    D&D 5E (2014) UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

Well my post was mostly intended as a joke, but does represent my actual opinion. So, okay, I'll answer. It looks like we agree that it is more complicated. My "needlessly" qualifier is due to the opinions below, as you noted. Yeah, I don't see any rule problems caused by the current...

    D&D 5E (2014) UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

This system isn't worth discussing and should be dismissed out of hand. . . . Okay, that was a joke. But I still think the whole system is needlessly complicated, doesn't solve an actual problem and reduces player agency. It is just bad, bad, bad. But hey! If others like it, that's great! Have...

    D&D 5E (2014) Heroes of Hydellor

As the door slowly opens Mindra steps from behind it and releases her arrow. There is just the twang of the bow and the thunk of the arrow before she steps back, not even waiting to see the goblin fall. Holy crap! That is a good roll! Short bow attack with Sneak Attack: 1D20+6 = [18]+6 = 24...

    D&D 5E (2014) Heroes of Hydellor

I hope so! Want to get my Sneak Attack in. ;) I know Coriana needs light, but hopefully someone can provide some when the fight starts? Anyway, I was going to wait till asked, but if it helps speed things up I will go ahead and roll initiative now. Initiative: 1D20+4 = [19]+4 = 23

    D&D 5E (2014) Do you miss attribute minimums/maximums?

What? No. I didn't say that at all. I guess I was a little too long winded and it got lost in the wall of text. What I said: "That would be the baseline. But there is no reason to limit character abilities according to gender based on reality." And: "Back when my group still rolled stats we...

So are you suggesting that the limit on bonus actions should be increased to 2? Honestly nothing "breaks", it just slows down the game. Even allowing the extra attack from two weapon fighting in addition to a bonus action slows down the game. It is just whether you think the extra time is worth...

    D&D 5E (2014) Do you miss attribute minimums/maximums?

Even though D&D is a fantasy game, it uses our own world as a starting point. In the real world men are stronger than women. Significantly so. This is a fact. So if we want to model human men and women in a fantasy game then on average men should be physically stronger than women there as well...

A matter of degree. Having 2 to 5 attacks plus a bonus action instead of 1 to 4 attacks plus a bonus action isn't the same as allowing 2 to 5 attacks plus 4 bonus actions (or whatever).

Actually I think there is a problem with using multiple bonus actions in a round. The main one being that, as a player, I don't want to sit around and wait for the guy with 8 different bonus actions to finish them all. But, yes, in addition to two weapon fighting, the extra attacks from Polearm...

1.) So you are talking about a Rogue/Monk multiclass. And I don't see a problem with them not stacking. Your Rogue/Monk can Shadow Step and hide just fine. He just has to use a Standard Action to hide. A standard Rogue can attack, disengage and move, but not hide. Why should your Rogue/Monk be...

Let's get this party started. Mindra pushes the door open (or pulls?), steps around the corner and shoots at the closest goblin. Initiative? :)

I think you will find the chance being lower than you think. But anyway, the point is that I disagree that in increases "drama". Although now that I think about it, it is a matter of opinion and personal preference anyway. So I guess it is fair to say it increases drama for him and others that...
