Perhaps, except for some campaign specific tuning--starting values, trait selection, specific bonuses, etc. For myself... 1--I definitely think I'll be including this in my campaigns from now on. I'm going to limit the traits to Good/Evil and Lawful/Chaotic, but use the subtraits you listed...

Excellent point! I can envision the tension now, the PCs pursue the evil high priest into the mountain passes as winter closes in. The PC's hirelings start drifting away, yet the PCs know they must finish the villain now, lest he come back stronger than ever in the spring. Do they press on...

It's generally easier to be bad than it is to be good. I think the inclusion of these modifiers is a great way to encourage characters to strive for a more "heroic" ideal--and the less heroic sorts will now actually tend to suffer a bit for their mis-deeds. This latter aspect is naturally...

More than any other class, I think Wizards would benefit the most from having a "winter phase". No longer would they have to worry about missing out on the adventure while conducting research or creating magical items. Whether or not this is a good thing I leave to you to decide ;)

I was thinking while at the gym... The opposed pairs listed under Good/Evil and Lawful/Chaotic could simply be used as guidelines to help define which category a given act would affect, and would not be assigned values themselves, OR They could be assigned values as previously discussed, but...

At the very least, it adds a certain "legitimacy" to our little undertaking ;)

Just a quick note, since we've started a new page, that the alignment tracking rules we were discussing earlier on this thread are now being hashed out at... http://www.enworld.org/messageboards/showthread.php?s=&postid=133674#post133674 Stop on by and drop your 2 pence off :)

I like this option. One thing that has always been difficult (at least for me) in the D&D alignment system, is determining whether an act should reflect on the Good/Evil component or the Lawful/Chaotic one--the above addresses this nicely (though, as with you, I am unsure about which category a...

Thanks :) You might want to take another look--I made a rather large snafu in my original post. Hopefully it's at least internally consistent now. (EDIT: I better stop while I'm ahead--darn alleve!)

This is the barebones of an idea that a few of us started to hash out over on the general boards while discussing Pendragon (for those not familiar with this system, you can go HERE to get a general idea of the background for this topic). Basically, Lawful/Chaotic and Good/Evil are recorded...

I like this :) Maybe the ranges could be something along the lines of the following... If a value is greater than 12, the character gains that alignment aspect. If neither value in an opposed pair is greater than 12, the applicable alignment aspect is considered to be "Neutral". I chose the...

Thorvald retreats from the realm of faerie, to gather more knowledge and, mayhaps, to acquire a charm to ward off these foul creatures' antics upon his return (i.e. I'm off to class :) ).

As if being called an Orc wasn't bad enough! Green Knight, pay close attention, and you shall see a demonstration of how weapon skill is split between two foes... ...ALLEZ!!!

Thuringia? Orcish Empire?!? You're saying some of my ancestors were Orcs  ? Considering that this is a Pendragon thread, I've half-a-mind (talk about an opening) to challenge you to a joust a outrance! ;) BTW, nice job on the adaptation.

Traits occur in opposing pairs, for example... Merciful/Cruel During character creation you generate a value for one, and the opposing is equal to 20 minus this value. Thereafter, each time one rises, the other falls a like amount. Trait checks are made at the DM's discretion, and are not...

They're all pretty similar, though the latter versions include much of the information that was originally found in the earlier supplements. If your gamestore has any of the old Chaosium 4th Editions they're the same as the current edition (as far as I know)--and the only real change to the 4th...

Green Knight-- Basic task resolution couldn't be simpler--roll less than or equal to your skill or the difficulty, and you succeed. For combat, a couple additional levels of success are added--you and your foe each roll a d20 and compare the results to your respective skills. If a skill is...

Good to have a few other Pendragon fans around--I don't often get a chance to exchange ideas with any. So, while we've got this thread going, I thought I might get your opinions on a few things--and maybe hear how you've approached things :)... Shields: *Subtract rating from damage BEFORE...
