How old were you when your first GMed an RPG?

I was 14. Started with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay before moving over to D&D.

Can Hobby Stores Make Their Saving Throw?

Having gaming space is where the future lies in my opinion. The bicycle shop that I mentioned previously opens up on Sunday afternoons just for gaming. Four tables, three are usually grabbed by the Magic players but one is always kept for the players who bring down boardgames. He doesn't charge...

Can Hobby Stores Make Their Saving Throw?

We used to have a FLGS up until ten years ago. The store owner decided that hobby gaming wasn't going to pay the bills so turned the store into a bicycle store. He still runs Magic tournaments and orders gaming stuff for us but it's not the same. Unfortunately the internet has destroyed gaming...

    Player or GM?

Mostly GM but these days I get to play a bit more than I used to.

Pathfinder 1E Trapped in a box - shadow walk?

By the wording of the spell it is a bit unclear but I would say yes.

You and Your Characters: Gender and Sexuality

I'm a guy and I would say that most of my characters are female not that it makes much difference. I play a character not a gender. Male or female in RPGs is more for how I imagine the look of the character over any sense of how I would roleplay them. Though in a few online game sessions I have...

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder w/o Cleric?

As long as they have access to healing potions and wands, it shouldn't be a problem.

Pathfinder 1E Help with a Bard of Calistria

If you are happy with the character having such a companion, don't worry about finding a mechanical reason, just design an adventure where the character can gain such a companion as the reward.

Pathfinder 1E Your Pathfinder campaigns - running Adventure Paths, published adventures, or homebrew?

I like the APs but the majority of my games are published modules tweaked for my own needs.

Fantasy Campaign Setting: What do you want/not want?

Just what would appeal to me. Generic. I want to be able to add adventures or material from my collection with ease. Standard core races (humans, elves, dwarves, halfings, gnomes, half elf and half orc). Dark ages/medieval rather than faux renaissance. Good mix of terrain areas, from arctic...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo: Any plans for more complete AP books?

Yesturday I picked up my copy of the RotRL anniversary book. I'm curious as to whether Paizo is going to be releasing the other APs in this format? Thanks.

Pathfinder 1E Paladin combat is kinda dumb.....

I'm playing a Paladin in a pathfinder campaign at the moment. My first attempt at a Paladin under this system and I'm having some good fun with it. You have to remember that you are playing a melee type with extra abilities. It is difficult for the class to be anything but that, but the class...

    Player not using sheets.

Invest in Herolab from Lone Wolf. It does the job for you and at the start of each session just print out new sheets. Since using this my games have been a doddle to keep track of characters, spells, feats and respective DCs.

How do you like your HP to increase?

As a player I like max at 1st level and then random at each new level. Keeps it interesting. As a GM I do max at 1st, and then either (player's choice) of roll or take 50% of the respective hit dice.

Pathfinder 1E How is the rogue nerfed

The rogue hasn't been nerfed at all. They are just as good as they as they ever were but now they get rogue talents to make them better.

so how often do you go above 10th level?

Under 1st and 2nd edition AD&D we rarely played beyond 9th/10th because we felt that the game broke down balance wise past there. I think the highest we ever went was about 15th. When 3rd ed (and now Pathfinder) came out we felt that that problem wasn't so bad any more and we can happily play...

Pathfinder 1E What's broken or needs vast system knowledge?

I full agree about knowledge checks ruining it for monsters. My players, who are all experienced roleplayers with 20+ years of experience, do exactly this. As soon as a new monster appears they are calling for knowledge checks to learn it's resistences and vulnerabilities, which I think takes...

Pathfinder 1E What's broken or needs vast system knowledge?

    1. Nothing really comes to mind as broken. However, I am finding that pretty much everything outside the core rules has a power creep which can make certain balance issues awkward. 2. Nothing. Pathfinder is no harder to break than D&D 3.X was.
