Unless your world is different than most, the standard beasties such as orcs, dragons, ogres, trolls...etc exist. But everything else only exists when it makes an appearence in your game world.

You just have to use common sense. If one person falls down a pit and then a second falls or is pushed down, they end up in an uncomfortable heap.

My experience is that ICE's Middle Earth was the best system for playing in Middle Earth. Nothing else has ever quite worked the same way for me.

I don't use XP in my Pathfinder game anymore. But I do prefer there to be an increasing amount of time between levelling up as characters gain levels.

I love all thing's Lovecraftian but even I find that sometimes it appears too often in non-Lovecraftian games. It kind of spoils it a little. But that just means I use it sparingly if at all.
