    D&D 3.x DM'ing Pathfinder - What's Different from 3.5E?

Changes to the way poisons work. The various class changes. (I and my players aren't entirely competant with this yet) Changes to the XP values and advancement tracks. General monster changes, but that's probably more on a case by case basis.

    Pathfinder 1E Golarion Setting Discussion

During the next AP they're releasing a gazateer style book for the region.

Using XP Charts to Assist Balancing Classes

You may also run into problems because the monsters stats/CR are set up to relative to the expected power of the party. So if you had standard party (F, R, C, W) you'll have levels split between the party members. If you us the APL to determine opponent CR monster may not do enough damage to...

Pathfinder 1E My New Pathfinder Policy

I think you may have hit the nail on the head here. People who want the products being released are not going to consider their release as churn or bloat. People who don't want them (or want something else more, like an up to date FAQ) are going to see them as churn or bloat.

Pathfinder 1E My New Pathfinder Policy

I find this interesting (in a general sense) that something written by a Paizo designer and put up on the Paizo website is less valid that something written by the same designer and put up elsewhere on the same website because it's not under the FAQ.

Pathfinder 1E My New Pathfinder Policy

I'd say two things to this... These things may be slipping through the cracks (as you put it) but they're still releasing everything else. So what other products would you like the be put on hold to get these things out? Paizo is a print product publisher, not a digital product one, they're...

Pathfinder 1E My New Pathfinder Policy

But isn't that a good sign? That they're using the time they have between releases to do playtests? And that allows them to find problems earlier and gauge people's response more easily.

Complexity as a Barrier to Playing Dungeons & Dragons

I think part of the issue may also be the range of complexity between different classes between editions. In 2E (the earliest edition I've played, but I think this applies to the earlier ones) a fighter was less complex than a mage, cleric, or paladin. So as a player I could choose that class...

Ultimate Combat Playtest: Gunslinger, Ninja, Samurai

Fair enough, I was using you as an example of someone who's done a crap load of historical research (obviously) and that a person like that might want a ninja that was more historically accurate. I wasn't trying to imply that you did.

Ultimate Combat Playtest: Gunslinger, Ninja, Samurai

I'd argue that your's is as well. You're making the assumption that what you want out of a ninja class (and by proxy the game as a whole) is what everyone else wants out of the ninja. This isn't true. I don't care one way or the other if the ninja has martial arts skills (where martial arts...

    WotC Product Catalog Updated

You just have to find FLGS that offer them at US cover price (or much closer to). There's one in T.O. that seems to on Paizo products at least.

Pathfinder 1E Lost Cities of Golarion

I'm having a similiar issue with getting Pathfinder #40, none of my local FLGS have it (despite having everything else that was released at the same time) as well as indigo online. So me thinks there are some destribution issues.

    Diamond -> Diamond Dust

How would a party go about turning I diamond into diamond dust? They have a diamond of the correct value, and assume no loss. They're in a dungeon so they can only use stuff they have and stuff they can find. Thoughts?

    4E Poorly Rated on Amazon...

If the review was based on the content of the book itself (ie badly written, badly organized, cheaply produced) that would be fine. If the review states why the score was given, it wouldn't matter if the recipes were tried or not (or in our case if the game was played or not). Now I'm not...

    4E Poorly Rated on Amazon...

But since it's a review on a book buying website shouldn't the reviews be based purely on reading the book that is being reviewed?

I'd like to be excited, but...

Also agreeing with the first poster. This is about the least interesting thing that could have come out of GenCon. At first I was annoyed that no new 3E stuff would be coming out, which made me very anti 4E but the more I thought about it the more I realized I just didn't care. And from what...

Doctor Who 2007: The Sound of Drums

Great ep. My only worry is that at the end of the next one that time/space will be reset and alot of what's happening will be undone. I mean the Master's built a "Paradox Machine" which suggests to me that what's happening involves fiddling with time.

WotC is going online. What do you want the digital initiative to be?

I don't think I'd subscibe, but I'd be willing to buy stuff on an article by article basis (if it were of a good price). Charge me a per page price and allow me to sellect the stuff I want to buy, not the stuff they want me to buy. Also I don't trust the WotC website enough to give them my...
