D&D 5E (2014) Why are non-caster Ranger themes so popular?

I never understood why Rangers had spells. I think in earlier editions perhaps the spells were supposed to act like some sort of skill or ability one could use in the field. But, I think it would be much better if the Ranger could have something to supplement caster levels -- for example extra...

D&D General How crunchy vs casual do you like your D&D?

When it comes to Dungeons & Dragons, how crunchy do you like the rules vs how casual do you like the rules? Crunchy meaning lots of match, numbers, things to keep track of, can make crazy combos. Can be a lot of rules, a lot to memorize and keep track of. Casual meaning as little rules as...

D&D 5E (2014) Ways for a demon to go incognito around a paladin, without being unfair to a player

The succubus wears an item, maybe a necklace, a ring, an earing. The item is magic, and it hides information such as alignment, nature of creature (aka being undead or a demon), as well as is resistant to Detect Magic from any Spell Slot of 3rd level or less used.

D&D General Replace a class with a similar idea for a class

Y'all are some smart, talented people. Keep it up!

D&D General The "Jack Of All Trades" is a cursed archetype in tabletop RPGs

I am not concerned with the Jack-of-all-Trades character Class, aka the Bard in 5e, mainly because they get Expertise. Want to Stealth really good? Put Expertise in it! Bards also have Spells to supplement things as well. Sure they can buff friends and such, but, they have other utility as well...

D&D General Replace a class with a similar idea for a class

I am going to go through all of the PHB core classes and see if I can give replacements: Bard - Warlord -- support through companion buffs, though would lack spells. Barbarian - Berserker -- c'mon, that is all it really is, right? Cleric - Priest -- just a name swap. Druid - Shaman -- to fill...

D&D General What would you call a cross between a Diviner and a Psychic?

Such a good disucssion! I like the back-and-forth as well as the ideas.

D&D General How many hours of D&D would you say you have played in your entire life?

It is safe to say I have played the least out of everyone :ROFLMAO: I sure wish I had the opportunity to play more!

D&D General What would you call a cross between a Diviner and a Psychic?

My mistake. The perfect name! I like this answer so much, it was staring me in the face when I typed up the question! :ROFLMAO:

D&D General What would you call a cross between a Diviner and a Psychic?

Yes, but it doesn't really meet the marrying of the two, the Diviner and the Psychic (Psionic).

D&D General What's the most problematic D&D player you've ever played with?

I've had a few "bad" players. Some, I just find their habits annoying, or their play style. Others, were what you may call playing the Chaotic Stupid character. Then, there are the players that always seem to have a grudge with every NPC that doesn't automatically say yes to them when they...

D&D General What would you call a cross between a Diviner and a Psychic?

I feel a Diviner can see glimpses of the future, the past, maybe lore about a person or object, but, they don't excel at moving things with their mind. So, a Psychic (or Psionic) can move things with their mind, lift objects, throw things, etc. What is a good median between the two?

D&D General How many hours of D&D would you say you have played in your entire life?

If you had to estimate the amount of hours you have played D&D in your entire life, how many would you say it is? I started playing in the summer of 1999 with 2nd edition, and since then I have played a little of 1st, a ton of 3.0/3.5, a small bit of 4th, and a lot of 5th. With the average...

D&D General Which school of magic is responsible for things such as Weapon & Armor enhancements and Magic Items?

I vote for a school of Imbuement, where it is specifically dedicated to the properties of creating magical items. So, for example their spells would concentrate on giving special properties to objects whether for a duration at lower levels or permanent at higher levels.

D&D General Which school of magic is responsible for things such as Weapon & Armor enhancements and Magic Items?

Which school of magic is responsible for Magic Items, Weapon enhancements (+1, +2, etc), Armor enhancements (+1, +2, etc)? I always thought it was Enchantment magic, but, after reading its description, that doesn't seem right to me! I've talked to some pros in the field, and they had some...

Are there any programs which let you create custom character sheets?

If I recall correctly, I didn't have any luck with that tool for some reason. It was either too basic, was missing functions I needed, or something along those lines. I appreciate the feedback, though. I am not looking for someone else's custom sheets, I am looking to make my own. Show me...

Are there any programs which let you create custom character sheets?

Form-fillable PDFs would be preferred, but, also being filled out by hand isn't a bad addition. Basically, a digital and a printable version.

Are there any programs which let you create custom character sheets?

Are there any programs out there that allow one to create custom character sheets? A program that doesn't use script coding, maybe something Drag & Drop? Or at the least edit/insert field? And if not, what is the general price range for a custom character sheet?
