I would be inclined to agree and with the Githyanki you have your psi race and perhaps they'll have... Half-orcs instead of hobgobs (barbarian angle).

I assume the the "playable" races in the MM will be barebones implementations, leaving room in the PHB II for more fleshed out versions of Drow, Gnomes, Githyanki, Hobbos, etc.

Now that I've read the article a few times I find myself wishing they would've included an example of an artifact. I seem to remember them saying that they've actually stated up quite a few of them...

Another very interesting tidbit... In addition, each character can only activate a few different magic item powers in a given day, so the guy who brings a loaded pack full of flashy items doesn’t get as much bang for his buck. Hmmm...

Well, WotC has already said they're going to do a brand new settting... at some point. Personally, unless it's a true innovation for D&D I'd rather they just continue to update the popular settings they already have...

Actually, it was at I-CON that they initially said that GH woud be supported, but it was at GAMA that they actually said the books were in the works. This was the quote from a Wizard's board member who was there... "Bill Slavicsek mentioned those by name as what we'd see after Forgotten Realms...

At I-CON they confirmed that the books are already being worked on for 4e Greyhawk, which means it is very possible it could be the next setting published after Eberron in 2010. :cool:

I'm supporting my FLGS... I've already ordered the Gift Set and a bunch of other (non-setting) stuff.

And this is why we have DMs. If someone wants to build a castle - great! Another wants to adventure - run a couple of adventures during the time the castle is being built. Perhaps tie the two together... eg. During the adventure the PCs a group of giants become indebted to the PCs and are...

That was actually my first thought, splashy fight scenes are cool. But I figured that would lead to some very oddball scenes with epic monsters fighting alongside low heroic tier beasties, colossal sized monsters in scenes with tiny monsters, deep sea monsters along with land monsters all...

Yeah, the new roper looks downright nasty... certainly one of the best renditions I've seen. That said, I have one early request for the 5e MM - every monster must be illustrated in a battle scene against a group of PCs. :)

I used to be a big DL fan back in the 1st ed. days and I got a lot of mileage out of the original War of the Lance module series. I'd even run variations on Xak Tsaroth, Thorbardin and the High Clerist Tower in Greyhawk and other homebrew settings. But when DL moved on I really fell out of love...

Yeah, it certainly doesn't help to have conflicting articles. But since we're given actual levels in the Tiers article (and no indication of gaining AS boosts in KotS) that's probably the way it is... 11th and 21st are probably Paragon and Epic special boosts anyway.

I recall someone worked it out from a previous article and the increases were at 4th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 24th and 28th level.

Well... if you design the campaign in such a way as to effectively prohibit any kind extra-curricular activities, what do you expect? But I agree, this is getting OT...

The first thing I thought was that it looked vaguely impish too. Overall I quite like it, but I agree that it looks a bit too intelligent (unless they are intelligent now in 4e)...

You've never fast-forwarded a campaign before? Typically when I ran games where you would have some of the PCs engaged in long-term projects on the side, you just move the campaign forward in chunks. Perhaps just one or two adventures happen during the time these projects are being developed.

I've definitely been itching to give the new fighter a try, followed closely by the warlock...
