The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

The two quicklings appeared out of nowhere, thankfully Theren was prepared for their assault. He knew they were somewhere in the brush and readied his great spear for their appearance. He sliced at blurs as they darted toward him, drawing blood and marking the first (Q1) for death as its blood...

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

Sorry, hadn't realized it was against all targets. I'm used to 3x which is one OA per a round (without combat reflexes), not one against each target. 19+4-2+13=(34) Damage: 9+2=(11) It's the forum format. There isn't any forums designed to separate game mechanics from narration, which makes...

    Against Q1 Polearm Gamble: 19+4-2+14=(35) Damage: 9+8=(17)

Gotcha. Manbearcat - Do we have action points?

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

If they had charged one might have missed since my AC is 31 against charges dues to Polearm Expertise, but it doesn't appear they did. Anyway, moving on.

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

But doesn't it have a condition that if there is another target you have to attack that target with the cleave and are not able to use the "save ends" function? Anyway, I'll be posting shortly.

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

Theren has no issues with dispatching the Dryad, however, he'll take his lead from Thurgon unless he feels that Thurgon has lost his noble positioning or is in some way acting against his norm (i.e. taking friendship or leadership, not willing to make the hard choice, etc). But right now he's...

Fighters vs. Spellcasters (a case for fighters.)

Masters Degree. I do program development and marketing (and teach on occasion) for a college. I don't think there's a consistent theme or correlation between Education, Profession, other Hobbies, and RPGs. My previous group consisted of three people who worked in the insurance industry (one a...

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

I Choose C. Swarm of Shadows lasts until the end of the round and then goes away (i.e. the start of the Dryads following turn after she has been decoupled). I3 is perfect.

Fighters vs. Spellcasters (a case for fighters.)

Correct. I am a huge fan of the cortex skill system and wished that D&D would use something similar, instead of the crappy one that's been floating around for a couple of editions now.

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

Did realize there was a save to make, but either way 5 damage is fine. I do ignore difficult terrain from plants with the Boots of the Dryad. I'm not sure how that applies in these particular cases. Athletics: 15+8 = (23) Location: I3

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

Let's see how this goes. I will use athletics to try and end up in L5 (leaving Thurgon the choker in S7). Athletics: 15+5=(20) Success! (barely) I'm assuming that happened prior to initiative? If not, then ignore the below. Theren will use Weapon Master's Strike (shifting causes OA) to...

Should feats be open or class specific?

Feats should be class specific, skill specific, or resource specific. They should also scale based on level, skill points, or resources invested. Basically there shouldn't be feats, just put them elsewhere. The other option would be to get rid of classes and dump all abilities into feats. Cheers.

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

Theren doesn't have a clue what going on in terms of context, so it would probably be something like what you wrote. Let's go with that to keep things simple. As for bursts, not much, aside from CaGI and my pushback one. I can certainly take on the quicklings though.

The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

Okay, I'll do it. HP Remaining: 68 Healing Surges: 12/12 Location: S6 Initiative: 10+4 = 14 (Still faster than Speedy the Paladin) :) pemerton, have you expressed Thurgon's goals here to Theren?

How would my Boots of the Dryad interact with that fall?

Pathfinder 1E Advanced Class Guide Playtest Rules

Wasn't the rogue already replaced by the Alchemist, Bard, Ranger, or Ninja? The question is, does the investigator replace all of those other replacements? I wasn't a fan of the monk anyway, so it'll be nice to have an alternative, especially if it's better than the weak previous monk.

    D&D 5E (2014) "Damage on a miss" poll.

I have only seen one player play one, and I wasn't DMing. I plan on running Skull and Shackles in a month or so, so it'll be the first time I let gunslingers into a game I run (they're usually not my preference for a fantasy game, but this AP is sorta geared in that direction). I'll be curious...

    D&D 5E (2014) "Damage on a miss" poll.

Although it appears that you don't even have to be aiming or anywhere near the target (although I would guess that you need to be within the range limits of the weapon). You could just fire the gun into the air, roll the die, and deal 1d3 damage to whoever you named as a target. Adding the...
