Great D&D article in today's Boston Globe!

Come, PC, surely your Google-fu is greater than that! From the ESTES website itself: Their catalog is up and they seem to be doing well.

DnD Adventures in 4th Age Middle Earth... Ideas?

The fine folks over at the Tolkien Crackpot Theories page have already come up with a ready made 4th age adventure idea based on one of the loose ends of the stories: The Finger of Sauron Die, Vecna, Die indeed!

    Dagon now a Greyhawk God?

Come on, Cast a Deadly Spell was a great movie! :)

    Whats your Cyborg name?

G.N.A.R.L.O.: General Networked Android Responsible for Logical Observation If that doesn't scream "fated to be a moderator," I don't know what does. *sits back and waits to learn the secret handshake and get the key to the washroom*

What D&D cliches are you sick of?

:) Thank you for that, nice to have a good hard laugh first thing in the morning, even if it did trigger a coughing spell. Now, my cliche I'm tired of: the BBEG Overlord threat whose overarching plot the adventurers will eventually stumble across and realize that all their adventures have been...

Top Ten Dumb Guy Complaints About LotR

Along the lines of Top Tens, here are the top 11 ways Peter Jackson could've ruined the ROTK. Shows it's really not hard to come up with better stuff, Letterman's writers sleep walked their way through that one.

    Gnomes

You'd probably like to take a look at this thread about the place of gnomes from back in August. My reply from it: The only thing I've added to them since then is that many of them are psionic; that is how I'm going to introduce psionics to my campaign as well.

[SPOILERS] THE Return of the King Thread

Finally got to watch the movie yesterday afternoon, leaving in about an hour for viewing number two :) Loved it, other than for feeling a bit rushed and disjointed. The EE will cure that, as it did for TTT. Only three parts bugged me a bit: 1) Never pictured Dunharrow looking like Bluffside...

    Rate Return of the King

Graded it an 8, expecting it to jump to a 9 on the release of the DVD. TTT went from a 7 to a 9 with it's extended version. 10 is reserved for FOTR :)

    Did you cry during ROTK?

Finally got to see it this afternoon :) No tears, but got a burning lump in my throat a couple of times. The Pippin song was a rough stretch, and the death of Theoden. I'm looking forward to the extended edition. I'll agree with the earlier post about feeling rushed; both TTT and ROTK gave me...

What non-RPG stuff do you collect?

DVDs, computer games (especially finding old ones for my C64 that I couldn't afford when it was new :) ), coffee mugs, and lately a closet full of LOTR toys to go next to my closet full of Robotech toys :)

What Have I Got in My Pocket?

Lessee.... I'm home on my couch at the moment so I don't have much in there... a few bucks and a few coins... a couple of miscellaneous receipts from today's shopping... a piece of lint... and a condom in my shirt pocket (when the heck did I last wear this shirt? time to do laundry...)

Is there more to D&D then Dungeon Crawling?

I don't see a lot of emphasis on any particular style of adventure if you look at just the SRD with all the flavor text removed. And as far as life beyond the dungeon, of course it's expected; you got to come up to visit Ye Olde Magick Shoppe, spend the loot on ale and whores, toss gnomes...

Peter Jackson discusses directing "The Hobbit"

There were 13 dwarves, Bilbo was chosen to prevent them from having an unlucky number. Get rid of a few dwarves, and you get rid of the reason for them to have Bilbo along in the first place. :)

Hey, pogre, finally getting caught up in my reading after a busy couple of weeks at work, and this is what I come back to... the end of the LoTR movies this month as well as the end to your story hour... :( Gods, no, too much grief.... :) Thanks for giving us a synopsis this time, though I...

Your favorite LOTR film (and reasons why)

Fellowship for the feeling it gave me (and still gives me) every time Gandalf rounds that last bend in the Shire and heads up the drive to Bag End. I remember sitting in the theater on pins and needles hoping it wasn't going to be a disaster, and as the camera pulled back and I saw the Hill, my...
