Still get in some Car Wars and Battletech when I can, a bit of Supremacy, Belter and a few other old GDW games, Lunch Money, Ogre, Ambush, and the staples: Monopoly, Risk, Stop Thief, etc.
Strange, the Joy of Sex came out in 72, I thought you didn't quit buying books until 77 ;)
BOT: Only one child here, a son, who will hopefully be finishing college this year and my wife and I can start working on our empy nest :)
Saw it then read the book. Didn't have any effect on my life (parents had already realized it was a harmless hobby and don't ever remember any great outcry against the game in my area), and the only opinion I can remember having at the time about either one was "hey, it's got that guy from Busom...
1) The Thing - still rocks my world with it's wonderful paranoia.
2) Alien - suspense, claustrophobia, gore, sense of hopelessness, got it all.
3) Signs - don't know what it is but something about it just creeps me out.
I have to agree with Beeber on this one, I've ALWAYS hated stuff that was obviously put in "for the kids"... I was 18 when Return came out, but even back when I was 11 or 12 in Battlestar Galactica (the Daggit) and Buck Rogers (Tweeki), and then back in the 70's cartoons (the idiot kids and...
70s: Have to give top honors to Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show, exposed me to the classics for many years. In second would be the Scooby Doo shows and The Pink Panther. Oo, oo, also Fat Albert (made me wish I could live in a junkyard and make stuff out of scrap :) Probably explains my current love...
Mmm, poll could have used a separation between the "don't like it" and "don't use it" :) I don't use it/don't have it, but it's not a matter of not liking it; I just don't need an alternate PHB. I'm happy with the majority of D&D as is, I don't need new races, a new magic system, etc. For those...
I play a mix of both, mostly 3.5 but a good deal of 3.0 mixed in like the apprenticeship rules. Both if someone wanted to play something that was in 3.0 and changed in 3.5, I'd be happy to try and come to a compromise.
The magic used and abandoned in the guild has over time infused into the structure of the building itself. It is on the verge of becoming a living construct. While not quite sentient, it does have control over the creatures inhabiting it and uses them as a body would use its various cells: to...
How about a telethon? Hold it over the Labor Day weekend or some such. Lots of booth babes / cosplay ladies manning the phones for folks to call in to; bands like Wheezer and BNLs providing entertainment; LARPers acting out scenes from their favorite movies / TV shows for talent; and a comedic...
