Players dissatisfied with level of danger in 4e

Not at all. Intelligent monsters are probably aware that clerics and the like can get downed foes back on their feat; it's completely reasonable for them to remove that possibility from the table. I am a bit confused when you say it's more efficient to just heal people after the fight, though...

weem's Quick Combat Sheet (Download Included)

I really like these; gonna give 'em a try. Nitpick -- "Hit Affects" and "Miss Affects" should be Effects. :)

What became of Kate Monk's Onomastikon?

That wasn't actually Kate Monk's site -- that was a bunch of people who chose to ignore her when she asked people not to replicate her content. Still a loss, I suppose, but I sort of feel like the real loss happened over a decade ago. (Man, time flies.)

I love you WotC! (DM Rewards Stuff)

Just to be clear -- it's not minatures, it's a small box that you could put miniatures into if you wanted. Plus the condition cards.

Class Idol Round 7: Only Three Remain!

Warlock 2.0? Sorcerers are beef. Once you start stacking up those damage bonuses, it gets ridiculous.

iPad and tablets, just not good enough yet for RPG pdfs!

Oh, neat -- not a lot of people have had a chance to do hands-on testing of the iPad. Can you tell us anything more about your experience playing with it?

DDXP 2010 LFR Battle Interactive (ADCP 2-1) (massive spoilers)

Yeah; as a day 1 folk I can attest to this. We got some nice bonuses. The effects of the choices were severely modified between the two days in order to keep things from being predictable, though, so you might not have had the interesting stuff we got. Oh, re: the waves of motes... our DM did...

    Best 1st Level 4E Adventure

Nope, they are not part of DDI Insider. If the current RPGA guide is telling the truth, though, it's pretty easy! Get an RPGA/DCI number. At the moment, this means finding an event (either a CCG event or LFR, either works) and asking the organizer for a card. They'll give you one even if you...

    Best 1st Level 4E Adventure

Hm. You know, you might want to take a look at the RPGA Embers of Dawn mini-campaign (MINI 1-1 through 1-6). I wouldn't recommend the majority of LFR stuff for your purposes, but Embers of Dawn is quite good and fits your criteria very well. It's an urban setting (or rather, multiple urban...

    [Trailer] The Dungeon Masters

Elizabeth is very unpleased. She's got some comments here (as Drowgirl). Also, there's an interview with her here. From the latter: The guys seem less peeved -- Scott says it's a decent portrayal, Richard is polite but didn't like a few specific things.

What have been the big innovations in RPGs?

Over the Edge, as the first system without either a skill list or an attribute list.

    The Next Innovation in Gaming

Forum based systemless roleplay. (Whether it's taking place on a forum, in a livejournal, whatever.) http://roleplayerguild.com/f9/burning-earth-35887/ I am not kidding.

Some interesting insight from Mark Rosewater (Magic's Head Designer)

Yes. E.g., both Rob Heinsoo and Jonathan Tweet spent time on the miniatures side of the house.

Pathfinder 1E WotC desperately needs to learn from Paizo and Privateer Press

Well, except that's not true. If you put in fluff, people are absolutely going to assume that the fluff is holy writ and refuse to change it. Other people will look at it, say "man, that's not my thing, I don't want this adventure." Other people will look at it and say "why are they spending so...

Pathfinder 1E WotC desperately needs to learn from Paizo and Privateer Press

WotC's published well over a hundred modules in the last year and a half. Granted, they could do a better job of publicizing this...

    Any pro-goblin / pro-monster adventures?

Perhaps not entirely helpful to you, but the LFR adventure AGLA 1-5 "Silver Lining" is pretty pro-goblin. It's level 1-4. You're certainly allowed to sanction it and download it to run it for non-LFR players, although getting registered involves some hoops (by which I mean I'll be damned if I...

    PHB prices on Amazon

That's only half the market speaking. It'll be the full market when your FLGS sells 'em at that price. :) However, I think your conclusion is right. First edition PHBs are going for well under ten bucks.

    PHB prices on Amazon

Yeah, but a) I'm not playing 3e any more, and b) I could get it in PDF if I ever wanted to replace it. Awesome book, but you know.

    PHB prices on Amazon

I just sold the three book core 3.5 set on Ebay (plus Tome of Horrors and Advanced Beastiary) for $45 or so. Amazon prices are ridiculous.
