Thx for your input! Well, my DM doesn't allow new, customized spells, and "psionic" is not considered core rules for him, therefore this is not allowed as well. Core rules for him is DM's guide, PHB and Monstermanual 1. So I am probably lost on my quest to get large with a DD10? Any tricks...

What is the exact range of a dragon disciples bite and claw attack after he has been enlarged? So far I thought 10 ft for claw and 5 ft for the bite, but I can't find the source of that info anymore...

ah ok found it, thx! However, one point is not clear for me: "loose one HD". Is the character loosing the exact hitdice throw he made when he changed level, and does he get the same hitdice roll back when he reaces the level again or not? (==>Can it be abused to "correct" bad hitdice rolls)
