FOr WotC books only the one I enjoy using the most is the 3.5 DMG. I am always finding new and interesting things in it even after reading it twice. If we include 3rd party stuff my favourite would be the S&SS Player's Guide to Fighters and Barbarians. Lots of new and interesting weapons...

Well, actually you are wrong. I was ridiculed in school (mainly high school but some elementary too) for being the 'nerd', overweight, glasses etc. I learned to cope - and overcome. Without even a single shooting spree to my name, too. I really doubt I am in the minority in that regard.

Essentially by requiring a certain character level you are seriously limiting the amount of 'flavour' a PrC is going to have. Skill, feats, BAB etc all add to the 'flavour' of a PrC, imo, reducing is to solely a level requirement (and if it isn't solely that then the level requirement is moot)...
