I have to ask - why use dragons then? If they don't reveal their true selves it's not really a dragon encounter is it?

Lots of votes but so few responses! A follow up question for those voting rarely or less - why don't you use them more often? Should dragons be the iconic foe PCs face?

Wow. I've never looked at the ELH but if that is an example of what I can expect from it I think I am glad I haven't read it. Of course I've never really subscribed to the notion that characters suddenly become super powerful because they hit 21st level.

I don't know. I have so many McFarlane Dragons now I don't think I want anymore Gargantuan/Colassal dragons. I'm thinking about cancelling the 2 black dragons I have on order with amazon even.

I can agree with Question that it is a poor way to try to bring his PC into line (taking away the belt of strength) but I feel that the character in question is still problematical and needs to be addressed. Dumping the Ebberon Prc, Half-Dragon Template or Ebberon feats would be the better way...

There was only one book I was interested in - Portals & Planes. I'll check my FLGS - they sometimes get bulk order of FFG (and others) in at good prices.

That's about the only thing I'd add to the class (far from broken - it seems a touch on the weak side to me) a free Metabreath feat every 5 levels. All prereqs still need to be met however (keeps some of the really powerful metabreath feats out).
