A dishdash is the name in the UAE and some surrounding regions for the long white "frock" that they where in the region, including the headdress. "Thobe" is the name for the frock alone in saudi and UAE, and "gutra" is the headdress. :) -W.

Oddly enough, I only just got back from Dubai, U.A.E. at the end of last week during the heatwave. The big difference is that the Middle East region is used to this heat so EVERYTHING is air conditioned. -W.
