I'd call it straight-up armor myself. That dude takes longer to get dressed in the morning than most fighters, unless he's got a hidden zipper in the back or something. I hope that 4th edition will ditch the crummy asymmetrical armor look in favor of something that both looks cool and makes sense.

Remember, too, that Identify assumes that you are closely analyzing the object in question; there are very few wizards who are going to sit there and get zapped by a glowing altar for an hour just to identify it.

Another vote for HERO/Fuzion. It's compatible with Mekton Zeta, which has extremely friendly rules for constructing your own ships/fighters/cylons.
