    I think this might be a better fit for a Paladin Code involving Horses. Possibly keying off the Cavalier base abilities. The 'demand shelter' aspect was rolled into a background. Or could be. Spell Resistance could be covered by the extra feats the Fighter class gets (Resilient).

    I'm confused, the second bullet ability of both Subclasses is the exact wording of the Precision Attack maneuver (PHB p74). These are maneuvers without the 'Maneuver' label. They are just pre-selected. (Which I am clarifying for the point of evaluation and comparison not interchangeability.)

    I agree with some exceptions. Short rest HD healing, and overnight healing by default. I'd modify how this applies for certain corporeal undead and constructs.

    Concentration, greatly reduced spell slots at the higher levels, and spell scaling with spell levels make a huge difference. I'd recommend starting at 3rd (with 0 XP) to get a sturdier starting character.
