    D&D 5E (2014) Not liking Bounded Accuracy

The DMG reference most applicable is actually on page 236-37 under "The Role of the Dice". The sections are "Rolling with it" which some favor heavily, "Ignoring the dice", and the most likely: "The Middle Path". The middle path being: the DM gets to mess with the system to generate the...

    D&D 5E (2014) What happened to the errata/corrige?

Going over the list: I'd limit 'errata' to math calculation errors (CR not matching Prof. bonus is excluded), the XP variance, and the missing DC on Cloud Giant. Basing the proficiency on the CR is not a hard rule. I wouldn't include the 'errors' that refer to background math or general rules...

D&D 5E (2014) Incubation time for dragon egg?

A baby dragon is never late, it arrives precisely when it means to. (Or when the DM does) Since they don't know when the egg was laid, they won't have a reference for when it should hatch.

    D&D 5E (2014) What happened to the errata/corrige?

http://d-d-campaign-manager.webnode.fi/news/d-d-5th-edition-monster-manual-dissected-wip-/ And doesn't include CR modifications based on creatures in play as summoned creatures or companions (possibly modifying Pixie or Giant Poisonous Snake CR).

    D&D 5E (2014) What happened to the errata/corrige?

I'd imagine they only want to do it once and are still collecting data and discussing. The errata guy website had many errors - that really weren't errors.

    D&D 5E (2014) Not liking Bounded Accuracy

Sailors have proficiency in Vehicles (Water) which is a tool proficiency you can learn in 250 days of downtime. The tool'skill split can be very useful. Each version of the rules had different skill rules. If you really want to get a previous skill system back - then really just get out your...

D&D 5E (2014) Casting with two handed weapon?

I rule they just have to be in your spell component pouch - you grab your sack quick and cast, then go back to having both hands on your weapon. Alternately you use the Spell focus (which includes a spell component pouch).

D&D 5E (2014) Casting with two handed weapon?

It uses the same rules as a two handed ranged weapon. When you attack you need 2 hands. While you are loading (or doing something else) you only need one hand. This is part of the errata. IMO.

    D&D 5E (2014) Not liking Bounded Accuracy

Adjusting the DC based on proficiency and background could be thought of as an undocumented 'synergy' bonus in 3.x terminology. If the task synergizes with you class, background, and proficiencies then a specific task may be treated as one step easier. From a certain point of view...

D&D 5E (2014) Ranger: Removing/changing rangers class features to make then non-depended on DM's charity.

If you want to house rule something knock yourself out. There's a forum for that. But your reason stems from 'DMs not willing to go out of their way'. And that is a subject for general discussion.

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks About... Everything! Upcoming Storylines, Products, Staffing, Other World

When I look through the classics list I see a few that haven't really been touched in the last few years - but have been retreaded by Pathfinder APs. I3-5 Desert of Desolation - Mummy's Mask, Barrier Peaks - Iron Gods, Ravenloft - Carrion Crown, Kara-Tur - Jade Regent, Against the Giants -...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks About... Everything! Upcoming Storylines, Products, Staffing, Other World

I think "Story, story, story", shared experiences, and keeping crunch to manageable levels is not boding well for an OGL. Multiple settings, innumerable splats, and an overflow of adventures are pent up behind the 'No-OGL' dam. I don't see how the OGL fits into their current focus as much as...

D&D 5E (2014) Ranger: Removing/changing rangers class features to make then non-depended on DM's charity.

I find that playing a Ranger or buying a horse are great litmus tests for what kind of DM you have. When I find they actively try to negate my choices, I actively choose to go elsewhere. Mounts and Ranger are just the tip of the iceberg.

D&D 5E (2014) Question about shield master feat: Do I need to hit first?

    D&D 5E (2014) Critical Hits: Why not x2 damage?

Changing the way criticals work is a very common house rule. Always has been. If your group wants a variation at your table, there is really no compelling reason not to house rule it. There are reasons not to, they just can't over-rule what your preference is.

D&D 5E (2014) Question: Beast Companion and Barding Armor

I'd allow an animal to learn barding proficiency in 250 days. Just making some of the armors will take longer than that.

    D&D 5E (2014) Beast Master Ranger Revamp

Everything in the game can use HD to recover during a short rest. The main issue is that the AC has only the original creature HD but the hit points of a much higher creature. Fortunately, a long rest still heals to full unless other options are in play. Anything can also have death saves at...

    D&D 5E (2014) Beast Master Ranger Revamp

The Hunter is supposed to be damage and the BM adds utility. Usually the issue is that a player wants the damage and the utility. Trading 1 situational attack or +1d8 sometimes for an entire extra entity on the table is a fair trade IMO. The difference between a pet and an animal companion is...
