There's no easier way for players to tell an organization is evil then by seeing a minion get punished for not putting the right cover sheet on the TPS reports.

But not THE source of the fiction. The rules of the RPG, the players, and the fictional frame of the situation are also sources of the fiction. While the DM can (and should) nudge things, they should not override the entire construct of the fiction to force it towards their preferred outcome.

When I DM, I don't want to get or not get the PCs. I, ideally, am a conduit of the fiction, and it gets (or not gets) the PCs on its terms. Who else operates like this? Care to share example??

Well there's always purging D&D of everyone who's different from you. Then you'll fit in for sure!!!

Give the slowest PC a magic weapon that is +6 but loses the bonus (for the day) if their turn ever last longer than 30 seconds. That'll help speed things up.

Frankly, I think more Enworlders could benefit from using AI. WOTC has no interest in stuff like D&D's economy, a low magic game, grittiness, etc. But Chat GPT can and will make that stuff for you!!!

Reading this thread, I would have to say that D&D is bad at setting expectations. Many people come to D&D with opposing desires; either with other players or with the game itself.

I already have a regular group so more adventures around ENcity arn't in the cards. Even if it was, 4E isn't the most in demand game in these parts. Even Start Playing has few options for 4E! (but one game is close to starting at time of this posting)...

I hope the rules covering Chicken Pot Pie are good...
