    Wounds from Eldritch Blasts

I'd have it depend somewhat on the flavor of the warlock. And, of course, the strength of the blast should matter. If a 20th level warlock hits a commoner for 10d6 damage, it's going to be messy.

Loremaster's Greater Lore Ability - How Does It Work?

I'm curious about the reasoning of those who claim it takes an hour to use.

    non-core base classes with trapfinding?

In the PHB2 there's an option for the scout which trades the movement increase for the ability to traverse walls.

    non-core base classes with trapfinding?

Isn't there (somewhere) a cleric domain which grants it?

    Balance Powerful Build 0LA

Eh, I don't like this. If you optimize it for combat, it's still going to be way better than any other race for building a combat machine. The fact that you fail 80% of your will saves instead of 70% of them won't really make the human fighter feel any better about his relative weakness in...

Loremaster's Greater Lore Ability - How Does It Work?

Identify has an instantaneous duration, and a 1 hour casting time. The casting time is not technically part of the identifying process; it's simply how long the spell takes to cast. If you get interrupted during that time, the spell fails and you get no information about the item. So I just...

Entangle - A Little Too Strong For A 1st Level Spell?

I think it's hard for the party to use effectively, and that's what a spells should be balanced against. It's very situational, and entangles any allies in the spread as well. It might be more powerful than most 1st level spells in the DM's hands, since he can design an entire encounter around...

    Can gnomes talk to rats?

I'm pretty sure kobolds have always been reptilian in nature; certainly the 1e Monster Manual depicts them so.

Looking good killing the bad guys

You could get a set of cards which are all level appropriate ToB maneuvers, and filter out any which are too situational. Then, X times per combat, let a player use them sight unseen, drawing them blindly from the deck. You could also just use the ToB as inspiration, coming up with your own...

Using something like Psionic Focus to give low-level casters more staying power

If it were 0-level spells, it would never actually be useful. It would be better to fire the crossbow. The second use is probably too good, though. Make it a feat, maybe? One thing to keep in mind is that low level staying power is what level 1 scrolls are designed for; it costs all of 12 gp...

Glyph Seals from Magic Item Compendium

The question isn't whether this glyph thing can contain a personal spell, just whether or not it's useful for it to do so. A ring of spell storing states that: Since the wearer is casting the spell, it's clear that a Target:You spell would target the wearer. The same is true of most items...

Warrior-Mage Prestige Classes: which are viable & which are not

Which is just bizarre; it makes it easier to gesture in your armor, but the penalty is that it's harder to move in it? How, exactly, does that work?

Entangle - it's tied to the condition right?

You can also be entangled by things like a tanglefoot bag. How is that distracting, or at least any more so than being sickened, shaken, or even paralyzed? Just one of the weird quirks of the RAW; I'd probably let a player who complained about that tanglefoot bag cast a still spell without the...

Certain basic feats that should exist (IYO) but don't

It just seems a no-brainer, in that there are many feats which let you use stat X instead of stat Y, and I can't think of any way that Cha to damage would be overpowered. I'd assume some paladins would take it.

Entangle - it's tied to the condition right?

Since it's a concentration check, I don't see why it being stilled would matter... Apparently being entangled is distracting in some weird way that I don't quite follow.

Certain basic feats that should exist (IYO) but don't

A no prereq feat which makes an arbitrary skill always a class skill for you. A feat which lets you sheathe a weapon as a free action. Both of these would probably need another small bonus to make worthwhile feats, but currently players have absolutely no way to do either. (Although I haven't...

Are the alternate base classes becoming core?

I think I agree that a class with the Warlock mechanic replacing the sorcerer is the most likely scenario, in terms of the new base classes entering the "core" of future editions.

    Does helpless = willing?

Being helpless does not mean you're considered willing, but being unconscious does, so the sleep spell/severe beating plans both work. The rules spell this out quite specifically:
