Entangle - it's tied to the condition right?

You probably can't move unless you make your save: The plants are rooted to the ground, and you can't get more immobile than that.

What's the worst character type to be an assassin-type? (other than paladins)

Not only, as others have pointed out, do bards make good assassins, this was their explicit role in Dark Sun. (The DS bard got many of the features of the assassin subclass...)

can you weapon finesse a two handed double weapon?

The point of the FAQ/sage isn't to be "right" or "wrong" any more than the RAW can be inherently "right" or "wrong." The point is to provide an authoritative voice so the DM and players don't spend time arguing over the rules. Since the entire point of this message board is to argue over the...

Strike of Righteous Vitality for a Warblade

It's slightly worse than heal in a way that hasn't been mentioned; you can miss your target, and thus miss out on the healing. And if it's a hard battle, this should be at least slightly possible, even on a high level full BAB attack.

    Cleaver?

Note that, in d20 Modern, no weapon has a x3 crit multiplier. So in D&D, you'd want to convert the 19-20/x2 threat range to 20/x3, as befits all axes.

Is this legal? (Shrewsconners stay out)

The benefits of enlarge person are way less than the bump in power when you can choose Huge animals as your base form.

    What is Powerful Build worth?

This is just not true of the first two items; these are the statistics for advancing a monster when it increases in size. Note that when you cast enlarge person on a human, they get the latter three because they're an intrinsic part of being large, but not the first two.

    Light-armored fighter advice

I wrote up a tactical feat called Tricky Combatant that tried to make feinting in combat happen a little bit more often. In addition to the ToB stuff, you might take a look at psionics if it's allowed. A dip into psychic warrior or another psionic class can give you some neat abilities, as...

    AoO for Heal skill?

You can use the Concentration skill to "use a skill defensively" and thus avoid the AoO, however:

    Blind?

By the RAW, yes. Your shield bonus contributes to your flat-footed armor class, after all. Some DMs houserule that you can't use your shield in less you're aware of the attack, but since you have uncanny dodge even that shouldn't matter.

Hardness of Dwarven Plate Mail VS Rend Armor

Given that it's dwarven plate, and it only costs 150gp extra to make an item dwarven-craft (Races of Stone) it could have had an even greater hardness and number of HP than calculated above. I'd highly reccomend making pretty much every piece of magical equipment you can be dwarven-craft; it's...

    The "Ultimate" Eldritch Blast??

I'd reccomend against this; that touch attack means it's really not a problem. I've played a warlock in the eberron series of modules, and I can count the number of times he missed on one hand. He has PBS and precise shot, and that's definitely enough feats spent on hitting. He'd probably do...

    One Shot Pearl of Power

Except for the bit where it's a 1st level spell only. And I don't see the connection to having an XP cost regardless. However, 35gp is too cheap of a selling price, since items can be crafted for only 1/3 that in raw materials. I like the basic idea here, but I'd make it a 100-150gp item...

    Deliberate balancing factor or coincidence?

I'd say on purpose. Con and Wis are two of the most generally useful stats; HP and Fort/Will saves are a pretty good deal. We can see they used the same reasoning when deciding what item slots to use for Cha and Int stat boosts... wait, no, they just took it as yet another opportunity to screw...

    [Bo9S] Evasive Reflexes

I just dislike that, somehow, the actions of your enemy can aid you more than the actions of your friends. Your enemy does something which, contrary to his intention, lets you get an extra movement. But your friends can't help you out the same way? I know this doesn't matter from a game...

[BO9S] Playing a Crusader; assistance appreciated

One "problem" I noticed with a crusader is that although the power level isn't excessive, it's got way more flash than other combat classes. This can make it seem more powerful, but if you actually look at the damage output it's not as high as it sometimes seems. (Because you seldom make full...

Help me build a trippin' shield-bashing dwarf fighter

Or you could just trip with your body; it won't provoke an AoO when you have improved trip. And being a dwarf, it's hard to trip you back, so that's less of an advantage. Make sure to pick up armbands of might (CAdv); I'm pretty sure the +2 they give to strength checks applies to the one you...

(Water & cover) Am I reading this right?

It shouldn't be any harder than attacking someone while underwater, and there are certainly rules for that. I'd suggest looking at those rules for the maximum penalties for attacking a submerged target from land.

    Move Silently

It should read "When moving at a speed greater than one-half but less than or equal to your full speed, you take a -5 penalty." Because otherwise, you could just move a tiny, tiny bit below your full speed and be still at the -5 penalty, which has exactly the same effect.

    Wizards, spellbooks and casting

I'm pretty sure the rules were in 1e Unearthed Arcana.
