    2010: Is it Dragonlance? (hint)

Not quite; it could be referred to as the Savage Coast.

I hoped you checked, because wouldn't you be embarrased if it didn't.

    The Revenant DDI exclusive race

See, I thought of making an avenger for the Raven Queen, too. I didn't think of the dead once or twice bit, though. Thanks for that!

3e, 2e, Ad&d, Od&d.......... Forked Thread: Adventures that are NOT dungeon crawls.

Pharaoh is totally a dungeon crawl. It's sequel, Oasisi of the White Palms, is less of a straight dungeon crawl. The final module of the series is almost totally dungeon crawl again.

How do you run a Dungeon as a Skill Challenge?

I turned the maze in the 1st Ed module I5, Pharoah, into a skill challenge, and I can't wait to run it. The quick rundown is this: once they get a few successes, they start to figure out how to track their progress through the maze. Then they run into a sphinx in one room who, if they play...

Planescape, 4e, and the problem of worlds without history

The reason that these ideas will not be carried forward is that the original products are not sold and therefore not read or played. I believe that these claims are factually wrong. First, there are many detailed fantasy settings out there, some good, some bad. Second, the designers of...

That's not true. We won't be playing the Eberron campaign for a couple of months at least. ;)

One class parties - which would work?

I don't think invokers would be so bad. They do have some retribution abilities and they do have some healing. They wouldn't be as good as clerics. A gaggle of paladins would be OK, but their range would be troubling. A flock of bards would be as good as or better than clerics. The ranged bard...

The Proper Use of Nudity in FRPG Art

Not only this. Additionally, if almost every picture in a work, where black men and women were involved, has this theme, the work as a whole is sending a message. Of course, in reality, there aren't really any pictures of black people in most RPG works. Perhaps this requires another thread.

The Proper Use of Nudity in FRPG Art

I guess you haven't seen a good pair of shorts that gives good testicleavage! On a note more related to this thread: I don't find the change in female nudity over the years very significant, but I am glad for a big change in make adventurers. From Dragonlance through early 2E, every male...

    Any good adventures in Ravenloft?

Oh, that was planned. The one the PCs made up on their own wasn't. While the basic layout of the original Ravenloft is a disconnected series of rooms, there is enough else woven through the structure of that adventure that I believe it does surpass the standard problems of its day.

    Roleplaying and Mental Health (Psychology)

Check out the references that the OP posted. The Fine book, Shared Fantasy is the most complete study, though it was done in 1984.

    Roleplaying and Mental Health (Psychology)

Let me make a couple of points about some of these books. This book is, on the whole, poorly done. The scholarship is fair, but not excellent, and it needs editing badly. Some really excellent stuff in this book. The Michele Nephew piece, even though it is Freudian, is one of the best...

Star Trek (movie) made me think of Star Trek RPG... so...

When I ran a LUGTrek game, I discovered that for most adventures, the game system served as a framework in which to express the technobabble solutions of the players. Without a great knowledge of Star Trek, the players soon got into the groove of saying things like, "Can we use pattern buffers...
