D&D 5E (2014) Dungeon Denizens by Goodman Games

Yes. Roughly 125 days to go according to the pre-launch page. Though, personally, I think I'll wait until I have the first volume. While I like monster books a lot, I have less need for them in DCC compared to other fantasy RPGs. So not sure if I really need two of those.

Not out yet. According to the latest Kickstarter update they will start fulfilling in about 6 to 8 weeks.

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2025

It's a bit of a hybrid thing. One the one hand, it can be used as a set of rules to adapt your Outgunned game to the classical pulp genre. But on the other hand, it also works as a stand-alone game (that's also how I plan to use it), and it does not require the Outgunned core rules. Related...

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2025

Luckily, many of the things I had in mind have already been nominated, so I'll go with: Outgunned Adventure by 2 Little Mice The Planet of the Apes RPG by Magnetic Press

Kickstarter's 'U' Shaped Curve Is A Reverse 'J' And More Pronounced Than You Thought!

I had a similar impression based on the campaigns I've backed, but it's always nice to see numbers. And if I look at some of the bigger campaigns I backed in 2024, some of them are even more front-loaded: Outgunned Adventure - day 1: ~173k€, total: ~482k€ (factor = 2.79) Pirate Borg - Down...

Tabletop creators leave X for Bluesky in droves

I read somewhere (I think on the Bluesky subreddit) that they hired the developer of the GraySky app, so apparently there is some hope. However, that, in turn, made me wonder how BlueSky actually earns money/plans to be profitable in the long run. Right now, it seems they are mostly operating on...

I'm usually not that much into anthropomorphic animals, but I would definitely play possum mage 😄

Tabletop creators leave X for Bluesky in droves

It seems BlueSky has indeed reached the critical mass where people will join because other people are there. Personally, I still find the platform a bit lacking (e.g. no native tablet app), but maybe I'm also just a bit weary of social media in general.

Playing in Person Is Just Better (for me)

I think I fall into that bucket. I switched to online play with the pandemic and currently don't have any plans to switch back. Now I do enjoy a good face-to-face gaming session and I think if we are strictly talking about the social aspect of gaming than f2f works better than online. However...

    State of the Mongoose 2024

Thanks a lot for this comprehensive update! And glad to hear, things are looking good for Pioneer in 2025. Like Swanosaurus, I'm also curious what you will do in terms of Traveller-adjacent games. But I guess that's something for the next State of the Moongose, then :)

D&D 5E (2024) Did you make up your mind about 5.24?

I voted "I don't care", though that's not entirely accurate. It's more that on a surface level, it doesn't seem that different from late 5e, so I never had enough motivation to dig deeper.

D&D Movie/TV DADHAT becomes Netflix Global Hit

I am more or less exactly of the opposite end of the spectrum - with series I often feel like they are wasting my time and there's a lot of unnecessary padding. But if you have become accustomed to the slower pace, I can understand why you aren't enjoying movies so much. The book part...
