Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

I think I'll hold off on a purchase until its clear whether they also provide Foundry modules and what further books they have planned. But from what I have read so far, the lighter rule system sounds promising, and I'm tempted to give the game a try at some point.

There's A Diablo TTRPG (and boardgame) Coming!

A "Diablo Quest" game would be pretty awesome indeed! I would certainly be tempted to sink a lot of money into it - both for maps/scenarios and minis.

Ah! Sorry, then! I somehow thought you were referring to the CD page, from which it was removed.

    VTT/online-play Etiquette and Horror Stories

Pretty similar for me. I had one player drop without notice in a con game, and in our regular games, sometimes people forget to mute themselves while snacking something on the side (thankfully that's rather rare), but otherwise no specific online-play troubles. That being said, camera off has...

    RPG-style Board Games

I'd say, I beg to differ (when we play Euro games, the atmosphere is usually rather relaxed). But I will admit that, as a German, I might be biased 😄 This reminds me, though, that there is UltraQuest - an RPG-style board game by German indie publisher Flying Games (Shop, Board Game Geek). I...

Tomb Raider RPG Cancelled For Creative Differences

The short version is: Outgunned Adventure is a more streamlined version of the game that drops some of the more detail-focused rules of Outgunned (e.g. Outgunned:Adventure does have modifiers by distance for guns) and the focus of the book is also more on common tropes of the classic pulp...

Dark Horse Reveals First Dungeons & Dragons Comic

Tend to agree (and I think this is in line with D&D 2024 being aimed at a different demographic than D&D 2014). I have to say, I liked the IDW comics, though. But I assume the publishing rights have moved on to Dark Horse now.

D&D General Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford Join Darrington Press

Well, that's definitely unexpected (for me). It'll be interesting to see what concrete roles the two will take at DP.

    Worlds of Design: Playing Favorites

I voted "no", because these days there's no single game I would always choose over others, but rather a set of games I know I enjoy and that I'm happy to play. This can change a bit over time, especially since I try to play new games at least once in a while, but for the past couple of years, a...

What videogames are you playing in 2025?

I'm mostly back to Deep Rock Galactic these days. Somehow I can't muster the motivation to play longer and/or more complex games, but fitting half an hour of mining and Glyphid killing into my schedule here and there is manageable. And while I initially bounced off solo play, it's actually not...

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

I gave in to the temptation of another fancy limited edition I might never play, and bought Age of Vikings.

    The Entire TTRPG Hobby Post-Mortem

Seconding what others have said: all the best! You clearly have a lot of passion for gaming, but sometimes things don't work out, and if that happens for as long as it has for you, then taking a step back and a longer break seems like a good choice. Maybe things will look brighter in a year or two.

    Aging and Gaming

I agree with your general sentiment, but as we're talking about getting older: I remember liking them, too, but 16:10 desktop screens have become incredibly rare in the past decade. Also, you can get a 27" 4K screen with 120+ Hz for ~$300 (at least with tech, there's also some upsides to the...
