The whole affair is quite sad - DCC is one of my favourite systems and I had a generally good impression of Goodman Games, and I feel, even if they completely severed the ties to Judges Guild/Bledsaw right now, they have already tarnished their reputation. I still hope GG take this step soon...

Yeah, this is what makes the whole affair doubly sad. They seemed to be very much about the idea that old-school gaming is for everyone and that it should be a place that feels welcoming to people from marginalized communities.

For a general box: a player's and a GM's handbook or smaller booklets - both are fine for me. A pre-made adventure is a nice to have, but not required. If there is a fixed setting, a map is also not required, but definitely appreciated. And I would tend to expect a set of dice and any sort of...
