On the one hand, I'm really looking forward to this revised edition. The new layout not only looks great, it also promises better readability than the old one with mostly black pages. And it's great that they not only bring it to the core book, but also to CMOM and BBW! Also, I think fine-tuning...

Interesting! I didn't expect a new starter set (the existing one seemed fine, though it feels a lot more light-hearted than the main game). I wonder what they are planning to put in content-wise.

I have voted "Other" for the time being. I don't really do solo play of regular RPGs, but I do like game books like Lone Wolf, which are probably pretty close. Also, it doesn't really supplant regular RPG play in a group, but rather complements it from time to time.

A mixture of things. I think the starting point was that I moved twice for the job after graduating from university, and that meant the end of my regular F2F D&D game (and also of the occasional second group that played other systems). Player sickness has been a repeated reason for cancelled sessions in the past few weeks. But at least the one I ran on Monday happened (though things were delayed by Discord acting up for the first 30 minutes).

In addition to what @Micah Sweet is saying: we also use Discord video streaming for an overhead camera that our Savage Worlds GM is using to display cards and dice. It works better (=higher resolution and frame rate) if you pay, though (Discord has a subscription model called Nitro).

Yeah, that's actually the main appeal for me. I initially bounced off Shadowdark, because it felt too much like 5e mixed with ideas I had already seen elsewhere. But since I no longer play 5e (and also do not plan to play it again), that's an advantage now, because it's kind of classic fantasy...

Because shipping costs to the EU are still quite high, I ordered the Shadowdark core rules from my FLGS. I also backed the new Kickstarter, but only at PDF level.

If the apocalypse is coming, it's better to have a nice new game to play ;) More seriously: the world is a pretty wild place at the moment - unless your budget is too tight right now, I wouldn't overthink it.
