    PCGen 3.1.0 available

We're not perfect, and we're already in the process of fixing this. :) The Alpha/beta builds everyone has come to know and love should have this done correctly within the next 24 hours...

Get it right. Yes, Tir is 1 of 2 List Silverbacks... I'm the other. There's parts Tir knows better than I, and parts I know better than he... it's a good synergy. :) As for the rest of it, Would everyone please relax now? Let's let it lie for the moment, and give us a chance to get...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

No offense intended Clark, but are you specialised in the field of copyright and software laws? If not, then you _may_ be missing some aspects... if you are, then why wait until a public forum to address them? Why not address them in private, offering (of course for a fee) to help PCGen reach...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

In short we are within copyright laws. Forget D20/OGL issues at the moment. We are and have been within copyright laws. Yes there were issues over even that at the very beginning, those issues were resolved with the addiotions of the SOURCE tags that must be included in every list file (and...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

Re: Question Okay, those questions have been answered, repeatedly, but I will do so again. PCGen was not trying to get 'away' with anything, we did not feel WotC 'owed us' anything, and yes we are within legal rights of copyright law.

Okay, fair enough, no more rants from me then. Fire away on the questions.

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

Ah, the way it was reported by them (Gaming Report), it made it look as if you had indeed reported to them. Perhaps in casual conversation, perhaps directly, but looking back through everything, I see now how that happened. Clarification occurs. ;p And yes you did post that in big orange...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

Morrus, I am calm and yes I am here to answer these questions. And I am not pissed or angry at any time during this response (added this line after finishing). The issues are people refuse to listen, plain and simple. They would rather bash teh product, make assumptions, refuse to do...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

(Responding to multiple posts) We ARE within copyright laws. People seem to forget that. Don't believe me? contact a copyright and software lawyer, ask them. Enough with the misdirection and slams please. PCGen IS within rights, WotC asked us to remove the material to bceome OGL/D20...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

Clark, Pardon the earlier post, after weeks of bashing and working our asses off, the toll hit me finally and I took your post as yet another anti-pcgen bash, for that I apologize profusely. Onto your above post and the previous post... The biggest hurdle to software and D20/OGL is the data...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

Upon further reflection of you message I wish to address 2 points 1) We were not 'forced to' do anything. we were asked and we agreed. Since we'd been trying to gain dialog for for 18 mos, it was not a problem to agree to that, Also, since we had already done so with our 3.0.0 production...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

Clark, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm sorry you feel the need to hold a grudge. Especially considering that the whole issue has not/will not ever see the light of a court room as we (the PCGen Team) would rather work with WotC now that we have dialog, rather than duke it out in court...

    File type discrimination

I have spoken with Anthony again and found out that for every publisher we add their data files to, we will need to update Article 15. so that's resolved at least. :) And now we know, and knowing is half the battle. ;p

    File type discrimination

This is still being looked into, but atm, apparantly, we can have the license itself pop up on startup of PCGen and in the Help About section of the menu items. Not sure if we would be required to keep the licenses from each publisher up to date, I don't believe so, but as I said, that's being...

    File type discrimination

    1) For your information, PCGen is not, has not, and will not violate the LPGL, so you're wrong. 2) You're trolling. Very good, you got a bite from me. 3) As for donations, exactly zero. That's how many people have donated, so that kinda deflates your point. Since you had no idea before you...

    File type discrimination

You are correct. That is because we were under the mistaken notion that we were following copyright issues not OGL issues. Since we have been informed that by using OGC content we unknowingly agreed to abide by the OGL. Note, abiding is different then accepting the license. That has been...

    PCGen Data not found

That was a mistake on the part of Source Forge (where the files are hosted)... we had asked them to remove (permanently delete) all the previous versions and they accidently killed that one. So expect it back online sometime tonite. :)

    File type discrimination

Then you obviously missed/haven't been paying attention to the posts on the yahoo group, Bryan's 1st post on this topic was over a year ago there. And as we were told in no uncertain terms, buy using ANY OGC content we agreed, even unknowingly to abide by the OGL. D20 is where are issues lay...

    File type discrimination

I don't know what your personal issues with PCGen are, and I really don't care. However I do care that you are spreading lies and slandering the PCGen Team. This will stop. Now. No one makes any money from PCGen, NO ONE, by any means. PCGen is NOT charged for, never has been, never will be...

    File type discrimination

It's really funny you should bring up, since that's what we (PCGen) has been saying all along. *sigh* And apparantly we were wrong.
