    D&D 5E (2014) Easy x Strong

Easy and strong? My Top choices, in no particular order: Barbarian, Totem Warrior (Bear) Paladin, Devotion Wizard, Diviner Cleric, Life / Rogue (all) / Bard, Lore / Fighter, Battlemaster are all very good classes, a bit less strong and a bit more complex to run.

What's the best and worst D&D book you own from any edition?

I've already posted about my "best" choices. Reading the comments made me remember the "worst" one. By far, it is Book of Exalted Deeds. No other product was so gross that made me want to sell it as soon as possible.

What's the best and worst D&D book you own from any edition?

Ok, I want to express my opinions about this old topic. I only write about the Best books of all the editions I have played, divided in sub-categories. They are all must-own collectibiles. BECMI Ruleset: Basic Red Box. I'm proud to own the product that started it all for me. Still fond of...

    D&D General Savage Tide Experience

The campaign was written to challenge optimized PCs at the end of 3.5 edition, so even with all the splatbooks. It was even more deadly then Age of Worms (much more actually). The first four adventures of the campaign were nightmarish, the PCs were constantly butchered in very brutal ways. After...

D&D 5E (2014) Deep Dive into Descent Into Avernus

I've not finished the adventure yet, so I cannot emit a definitive judgement. Anyway: The first part of the adventure is linear, then Avernus is a sandbox. Also, I think you can complete the adventure in a number of different ways. This means it's highly replayable. For example, with good and...

D&D 5E (2014) Deep Dive into Descent Into Avernus

Ok, my party just destroyed the Dragonborn Antipaladin and his minions (lack of Legendary saves + Portent). We are LVL 9. So far: This adventure is a blast, could replace Reign of Winter as my #3 top adventure. Better then ToA and CoS. Truly epic in scope and fun fun fun. BEST PLANESCAPE...

    D&D General Savage Tide Experience

I have. We tried many times and had multiple TPK. It became a point of honor to finish it. Maybe after a dozen attempts we made it. So it could be over 40 casualities - this is in the top 3 hardest D&D adventures I know of. I remember as very very hard the initial phase (Blue Nixie, Parrot...

D&D 5E (2014) Looking for Campaigns for 14+ level PCs

Actual good high level adventures that I have played from older editions (easily adaptable): BECMI: Red Arrow Black Shield, Test of the Warlords, Death's Ride, Sabre River AD&D2e: A Paladin in Hell, Return to the Tomb of Horrors 3.0 / 3.5: Lord of the Iron Fortress, The Lich Queen's Beloved...

D&D 5E (2014) Next adventure after Lost Mines?

No you can't. You can only skip the first portion and start at level 5. But CoS is by far the best of your options. I hope your DM will be able to handle it.

D&D 5E (2014) Next adventure after Lost Mines?

Curse of Strahd is a great adventure, but maybe too much for a new DM. I'd chose a little self-contained adventure such as Lost Shrine of Tamoachan in Tales of the Yawning Portal, or the first level of Undermountain from Dungeon of the Mad Mage. I would AVOID Princes of the Apocalypse...

    OD&D What is Mystara?

If you want to get the feeling of Mystara, I suggest you to read Gaz1 The Grand Duchy of Karameikos or Gaz3 The Principalities of Glantri. Then you could play these adventures as an Adventure Path (an * on the must-play ones), converting on the fly for 5e rules: Eye of Traldar Horror on the...

    OD&D What is Mystara?

Mystara is a "kitchen-sink" world, with a number of nations described by the Gazetteer series (for example "The Gran Duchy of Karameikos" corresponding to medieval Bohemia). Most often than not, each kingdom has a good strong ruler, but also a number of villains. In the case of Karameikos, the...

D&D General Making The Realms Come Alive

Thank you Ed, very interesting insight. And thank you for the Realms and for Elminster.

    D&D General Megadungeons

I suggest "Eyes of the Stone Thief", for 13th Age. It's incredibile, the best megadungeon I know of. Adaptable for 5e. Really is a breathtaking One Unique Thing.

    D&D 5E (2014) Official Adventures starting at level 5?

CoS: if I remember correctly, "true" adventure starts roughly at 5; you can just ignore the first part, Death House, that has the function to bring the party to level 5, and enter Barovia. ToA: play the adventure without any changes (for me, this is even better). Don't give XPs initially, until...

    D&D 5E (2014) Official Adventures starting at level 5?

Dungeon of the Mad Mage: starts at 5, heavy dungeon-crawl up to 20. If you get bored, you can get out, treating Undermountain as a mini-setting linked to the open world Sword Coast, and re-enter only some dungeon levels. Dragon Heist: the adventure is for low level only, but it offers Waterdeep...

D&D 5E (2014) Deep Dive into Descent Into Avernus

Regarding the soul coin dilemma... It is clear that it was written to give the players a moral dilemma, that can be interesting at many tables. But if not?... First things first, any DM could rule it out if he wanted. But then, what's a soul coin? If the entrapped souls are in hell because of...

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin just committed murder - what should happen next?

It is not murder for sure. The Paladin was forced to choose, under death threat, between his life and another one. If he is Devotion, could be argued that he broke his Oath. In this case, if I was DM I would house-rule to take away his spellcasting, smiting, and auras until he seeks atonement...

Spelljammer Spelljammer Confirmed? Adam Lee Drops Hints About "Jamming Out" Next Adventure Product

An Eberron adventure would have much more sense, following the setting. But IMO Spelljammer beats Eberron.
