Help me make a combat teleporter without psionics

There's also Incarnum stuff that can help with teleportation. Never looked into it though. The Frequent Jaunt spell also showed up in the Spell Compedium as Greater Dimension Door. Speaking of quickened Teleport and full attacking, take a serious look at the Telflammar Shadowlord prestige...

Just got an iPod shuffle...how does this thing work?

That's the eject button; when you're done putting music on there, click the button and remove the iPod when it disappears from the menu. Same idea as any removable storage - let the program or OS finish what it's doing before you pull the device.

    Nuclear weapons of D&D Rules

There is a split between "too complicated to use" and "OMG!". The too complicated to use people have mentioned... grapple, turning, and the like. They're not unbalanced, just not likely to be used because they're a pain. As for good 'ol Mordy's Disjunction... we've kept it as is. My...

    Incantatrix

Technically, [Evil] spells cannot be cast by a [Good] cleric, but can be used freely by any mage. You may get a couple of raised eyebrows, but what's that compared to Real Ultimate Power!

    Deep computer games?

Deus Ex and System Shock for the FPS genre. Deus Ex is an _amazingly_ open ended game; someone beat it without using any inventory items at all. No killing people, just sneaking by. Wow. System shock is just freaky. Thinking games... Ultimas 4 and 5. 4 was a revolution in the goal of the game...

    Apple Imac G5

And their emulation software is an impressive technical feat. Though, amusingly, emulating a processor is a lot simpler than emulating an OS... but that's because hardware is (in general) more likely to follow the specifications than software. Store vs. online... the advantage of the store...

    Displacement Spell and Tremorsense?

Tremorsense: "Senses location" Now is that "they know where you are", or "they know hex"? They know where you are means that they have no miss chance; if they only know a hex, you still have total concealment (and a 50% miss chance). Blindsense (pinpoint hex) uses the same text as tremorsense...

    Apple Imac G5

I can't say I agree. With the exception of the laptops, the increase in performance won't be worth the "revision A" machines. The desktops are fast enough for pretty much everything. Also, you're going to be emulating programs for a couple of years; and that's slow. Slower than having a native Mac.

    Apple Imac G5

According to the specs, it has both a headphone and a digital audio out. So I guess the answer is "kinda" :) Looking at the two models... 17" is fine, but 20" is _fun_. I have a 20" LCD on my Mini and it's just tasty. Also, the remainder of the specs are better as well. It depends primarily on...

    Apple Imac G5

Best thing is try and get to an Apple store and give it a try yourself. Some people love the MacOS interface (like me) and some people hate it. The iMac is a great form factor for a PC. The "everything in a monitor" saves a huge amount of room. The Mac'll be more expensive than an equally...

    What's USB 2.0?

Bah, firewire! Okay, with that out of the way.... USB 2.0 is wonderful for storage. Thumb drive, memory stick, ipod, external hard drive... all great. USB 1.1 is perfect for other peripherals. Keyboard, mouse, gamepad. One thing to keep in mind is that a 1.1 device will work with a 2.0 port...

    Robe of the archmagi

Umm... I certainly don't think so. Huh. My scan of the SRD was certainly unenlightening. However, most items say "grants the wearer SR <n>". Not "A bonus to Spell Resistance", but a flat amount. That indicates (to me) that they don't stack; you simply get the highest value. Hypersmurf? :)

    Arcane Trickster--Specialist Wiz or Generalist?

Touch spells are frequently Necromancy. You're also losing out on Ray of Enfeeblement, Chill Touch, Spectral Hand... they get painful. On the other hand, as someone playing a Divination-specialized Necro-hater, it's pretty cool to _always_ have a divination. True Strike, See Invis...

    Robe of the archmagi

The RoA is an example of how the formulas occasionally need to be tweaked. Think of it in terms of usefulness. +5 armor bonus: whoopty. SR 18: well, anyone above your level needs a whopping 2 on the roll. Save bonus and + to spell penetration: wonderful. Therefore the formula price is too...

    Wand of Wraithstrike Market Crashes

Whatever happened to "the minimum time required to activate a widget is the original casting time or 1 standard action, whichever is longer"? Then insert wand, scroll, power button, etc. for "widget".

    Arcane Trickster--Specialist Wiz or Generalist?

We've actually had that question come up. I suppose you could auto-fail your save... We also had questions about Shadow Teleportation (does 20% get left behind?) and the like.

    Wand of Wraithstrike Market Crashes

Leave the way-too-low-level spells for the multiclasses! My group has recently discovered the joys of UMD. Mmmm UMD. In fact, I think the party rogue wants to keep the Holy Avenger...

    Arcane Trickster--Specialist Wiz or Generalist?

You definitely want: Evo. If nothing else, _contingency_. Conjuration. Orbs. Fogs. Orbs. Teleportation. Orbs. Dimension door. Transmutation. Buff spells. Necromancy. The tasty touch spells; ray of enfeeblement. Enervation. False life. Illusion. Mmmm invisibility... silent image.... GREATER...

    Specialist Wizards: Where's da Oomph?

I'm not sure they're underpowered. Depending on the specialized school, that is... I've been running a specialist Diviner, prohibited school Necromancy. I could have picked something else weaker (MAN does Necro have some powerful spells). The extra divinations have been nice, and giving up one...
