D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

He tested with light chain armor, this seems very much a melee archery. It would not work if you needed to fire the distance of army sized battle fields, but in melee hmmmm .

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

Yeh it works as radiant heat damage to anyone who got near him when he was in a rage or bloodied or some such (there was a magic item in 4e that could be changed into a GMT which worked well for it) Can vorpal strike be a rare trained thing... well why not?

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

The snap shot archery I have seen was done very mobile it seems if you practice for it ... its not very disabling

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

Hmmmm not quite that but Cuh Cuhlainn when deep in his battle rage started generating body heat so high his touch would burn people and he couldnt turn it off after the fight had to be doused with water...

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

Nods, believable, 20 minutes would take good stamina though. Yeh I do not find 4 per 6 seconds overly impressive and there are archers that can do full draw accurate attacks in 1.5 seconds and they are definitely highly skilled though not legendary and there is a snapshot technique that can...

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

People thinking skills can be used constantly and at peak performance I don't know what world they live in, that isn't even realistic (and no I do not think realistic is a good D&D goal. The recent battlemaster maneuvers like Commanding Prescence is explicitly a fairly open ended buff to social...

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

Yes theme decks were the mainstay of myself and many others I played with it was even often a challenge to bring together the components.

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

Interesting thought and I have definitely had it before (I considered representing that danger with hit point loss expenditure) ... but I think I may have shifted on it. Here is another take. Classically ancient peoples did not differentiate between highly skilled performance and working a form...

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

It would be bloody interesting if it fit the fiction better in that way.

I love the show lie to me... even if its ultra hyperbolic at best and just plain pseudoscience on the other end (with some maybe valid in the middle). But when I am playing fantasy games high end insight can do the gamut yup yup yup.

D&D General How many books/authors of the original AD&D Bibliography have you read? Do you feel you see D&D differently than people who have not read any?

Jordan was a DM for his kids and being TaVeren were intended to mean PCs... I purchase the d20 version of Wheel of Time Roleplaying. And they tried to make the magic feel right but it kind of didnt

Or something the DM wants the NPCs to be involved in. However to me one needs to level up what powerful means. For instance what if that potion/cure item is something that rejuvenates restoring in moments like you took a short rest. (in 4e such an item would help all classes). Some will go yes...

D&D 5E (2014) Battlemaster and Superiority Dice are causing martials to suffer.

Rare generally speaking although if they used to be a PC its an exception and I occasionally work up a national class NPC in PC terms but its not nailed in stone. At base level PC rules don't necessarily work for my general story super well like I mentioned healing is normally performed ritually...

D&D 5E (2014) Battlemaster and Superiority Dice are causing martials to suffer.

For me it is session zero material there is a rather witchy religious group on my game world called Bladedancers a player who wants to play a swordmage (which for 5e can use a 3pp similar in form to the Warlock) could be a member a gifted one (they discover their own arts which goes beyond the...

D&D 5E (2014) Battlemaster and Superiority Dice are causing martials to suffer.

The person in context used that word themselves at some level I just agreed, you are right though perhaps not everyone... and maybe some monsters in world might know (they never brought the idea of that up), but then if "only some or a few know" then you would not be playing monsters on "hard...

D&D 5E (2014) Being strong and skilled is a magic of its own or, how I learned to stop worrying and love anime fightin' magic

metal pole skill sounds like one of a Dancers trick, Cu Chulainn's feats, or a throwback to 1e's favorite tool
