    D&D 5E (2024) Fighter brainstorm

Level up uses exertion points... pretty interesting. I personally like tricks which if an enemy sees the trick it has disadvantage if you try and repeat it, obvious tricks (like a come and get it) can only be used once per set of enemies, period.

    D&D 5E (2024) Fighter brainstorm

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

Pathfinders separation of feats into different types and costing different design/development resources for the character is what I would have considered an enhancement for 4e.

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

hmmm the ability to run 2 concentration spells at once sounds the opposite of balanced but depends on other things with it I suppose. Nods magic has since the beginning of D&D sort of been uber reliable like a well established science (or engineering on a not actually complex thing) ... not...

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

It was an actual playtest in appearance the current setup does not even seem like one.

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

The skill challenge is rather this in abstract... you could have bursts of speed for athletics and sustaining for endurance and acrobatics for navigating obstacles and streetwise for city based shortcuts and so on... open ended of course.

95% of you didn't need the OGL and you don't need ORC

They make money off of claims to uncertainty... and WOTC posts here. (Why no that isnt a conspiracy theory why ever would you ask?)

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

Nods I also like separating flavor and mechanics so that it is easy to adapt refurbish.

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

Nothing necessarily needs to be fluffless exactly just distinctly written. Edge is a situational dramatic benefit not always about combat. But it comes shining to the forefront when opposed forces are arrayed. In combat one or another side is always seeking an edge over their adversaries or to...

Indeed and those steps can produce the exact same results and sometimes even a simple phrase can remain the same without infringing copyright .

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

That is not the distinction in question you cannot copyright a method or idea just a particular expression of it. Express a mechanic (or a story for that matter) differently and it is no longer subject to copyright full stop. I was reacting to this. "If they build it as a toolkit that happens...

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

"I have not been able to find any games mechanics cases on RPGs." --> I remember hearing about TSR making rpg patent attempt cases that failed... this should not be so hard to find. IIRC -> The mechanics were however duplicable in many prior other games and dice used for war games simulating...

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Considering how little seems known for certain about migraines that is crazy good. Now can they find something like that for fibromyalgia?

I have only had 1 migraine in my life but based on that experience I can see why people could be induced to pay that.

D&D General Hot Take: D&D Has Not Recovered From 2E to 3.0 Transition

As I expected really. And you might have a total divergence between all the 3 NADs of 2pts in 4e, if you invest in properly balanced defense. They made plenty that way from me :) , but I am also one of those with a near full book collection. Indeed not accounting for that stat is deceptive (...
