My first drow was back in the days of 1e, also. A female cleric / magic-user / thief. I made one in the days of 2e for an all-drow campaign. Which dragon mags had the Vault of the Drow articles. I quit getting the around #300, but I have 3 or 4 recent ones.

Really, I must've missed him. I don't recall seeing any drow in it. IMO, Salvatore ruined drow. Even though I'm not a big fan of Gygax, I much prefer what he was doing with them in Greyhawk than anything done with them in the realms.

I voted yes. The descriptor is there for a reason. I agree that not all spells that have it should have it. By the same token, some spells that don't have it probably should.
