In my group, which has had many members over the years, only people who DM have a significant number of books. Players usually have a couple or less.

Wow, quite a surge in the last couple of days. That 25 pound pdf pledge is really a huge amount of stuff.

I think the larger figure is a good idea. I saw the second kickstarter and found it confusing, with the mix of painted and non-painted. The kraken looks good.

Not really the same thing. Farming Out means (at least to me) they are in charge of the whole project beginning to end. Having a 3rd party develop it would be WOTc approving, but the 3rd party being free to make it their way.

I get that you love digital stuff, but I am not one who does, not at the table. Paper, pencils and dice are great. I have had players who tried to use digital stuff at the table and it has not worked out well. Using stuff outside the game is great though, especially for a DM.

I am more the opposite. I do not really care for digital aids, other than pdfs. The edition definitely needs pdfs form the get go. Apps and the like can be done 3rd party, but they should be allowed and the content released early to developers. I do not see WOTC needing to do this themselves...
