D&D 4E Classic items that never made it to 4E

Isn't something like the Folding Boat in there or AV2 as well?

    Your game sucks...

So you actually demand explanations as to why each person was more than x minutes late? Oyran77 was right - that sounds like it is a job not a recreational activity.

No...NOOOOO: Well that's bound to be an edition war

I come to enjoy the rage any change to the Star Wars movies evokes in people. I mean I have the original releases on DVD and last I checked they don't change just because Lucas loves f-ing with people. I--waitaminute *runs and checks cherished DVDs* "NooooOOOOoooooOOooooo!!!!"

    Ultima IV FREE on GoG.com!!

Yeah, it's true!! One of the 1000 reasons I love gog.com. Quest of the Avatar was my first Ultima experience and still my favourite.

    Brainless fun

I tried to play a an Int 5 Half Orc Paladin in 3E. Didn't go so great as I had a hard time not coming up with plans and suggestions that my dim witted PC just couldn't know. The group imploded by level 4 so no great loss I suppose.

How often do you convert dungeons/adventures to your current system?

I voted 'often'. For me that is about 75% of the time. I have hundreds of adventures with Dungeon magazine (I'm only missing about 20 of the print issues at this point and have pdfs of the online ones), old 1E & 2E modules, boxed sets with adventures in them, more modules for other game...

    Wealth Limitations: Realistic?

I don't consider anything about high level D&D to be realistic. I tend to think of them more like superheroes. It's one the reason that high level evil campaigns are really hard to pull off - the PCs, given their nature, have too much power to not be lording it over anyone and everyone they...

    Mapping the Greenbelt

You mean people have players who would actually follow the letter of the charter as written? Unpossible! I never noticed this and since I'm re-writing the charter anyways to take into account the relocation to the Scarred Lands campaign setting, I will keep it in mind. Personally I expect my...

Iconic Dragon Encounters of Classic D&D

Huh? My 1E Monster Manual had more than a few dragons of 'high' intelligence and only red, gold & Tiamat breathed fire. The only 'Low' intelligence dragon I remember is the White. The big problem with 1E dragons was that they were such push overs given the treasure you could expect from even...

    Overlooked Dragon Hoards

Oh those had me laughing out loud! The only one I've had that came close was when a party discovered a "Treasure Golem" - that is a golem made out of valuable bits of jewelry, gems, gold, silver etc. They knew it was very powerful (about a CR14 creature vs. their then level 5 PCs) but...

    "Oh god what is that!"

Oh I remember this one! In a Age of Worms campaign set in the Scarred Lands (Hollowfaust to be precise) under 3E the PCs were getting surrounded by multiple Sons of Kyuss when the cleric decided to make his move. The PCs were in a bad way the player, obviously feeling the tension of the...

Any love for the Scarred Lands?

Oh don't get me wrong - I liked the Rune WIzard just fine. It actual game play it proved to have some odd quirks but nothing game breaking. Keep in mind this is from my memories of 5-6 years ago so I might even have that wrong. ??? What fancy fonts are you referring too? Except for the...

    Do Bards still suck?

Yeah - uh guys? how about you take the attitude about how and what I or my friends play into any other thread but this one m'kay? This is what i was really interested in - actual in game experiences! Thanks Steel Wind! This looks much more hopeful. The Bard is most likely one of those...

    Do Bards still suck?

So I have the PF rulebook and have been reading over the changes to the classes mainly and trying to digest and judge those changes. Many of the classes got significant overhauls & power boosts (Paladin and Barbarian) while some remained untouched (Wizard). The one thing that jumped out at me...

    Powergamer Issues

Ugh - been there, done that got the blood soaked t-shirt. Does the new DM know how this guy plays? Do the other players? If they do then, aside from not allowing him into you house, you're kind of stuck. If they don't you might want to give a warning to the DM of how this guy cheats....err...

    Pathfinder 1E Is Pathfinder D & D?

I see these kinds of threads a lot - here and on other boards. They all seem to ignore one key question in my mind Does it really matter? I mean I've played every edition of the game (except OD&D (1974) - sorry diaglo!) and have even recently bought Pathfinder. All of them are (or look) fun...
