Loot 4 Less vol. 1: Rings & Things

So, your party of four 3rd level characters just killed a very young red dragon in the larger-than-life, adventure-ending battle that nearly killed them all. Good for them. Now imagine their faces as they dig into the little monster’s wee hoard ... and find nothing but potions, scrolls, and a...

    Mongoose at Gen Con!

Well, now that Matthew's made the official announcement about my participation on this project, I guess it's safe to talk about this. I spent just about every waking minute in July (besides my day job and meals, that is) going over the stats of the monsters that will appear in the book...

    Spellbound: The Enchanter's Handbook

Owen, thanks for chiming in. Sorry about putting that space between the "K." and the "C." of your middle initials; I edited the review to fix that up. Likewise, please pass on my apology to "Lj" for assuming that "Lj" was a mistake. (Although, in my defense, I think that would be a pretty...

Legends of the Samurai - Campaign Guide

Entonfire: Judging by your post count, you're new to the boards (and welcome, by the way!), so it's quite possible this was the first John Cooper review you've seen. I'm one of those anal retentive types who gets all hot and bothered by incorrect creature stats. Not everyone feels the same...

Just to throw out some titles I haven't seen mentioned yet: She Hulk: Single Green Female - a lighthearted look at the life of a superheroine/lawyer. Tom Strong - Another Alan Moore book, this one about a science hero. I've only got the first book, but I think there may be more. Any of the...

Cool! I've been verbed! Seriously, a very well-thought-out review, Mr. Patient. (And an excellent screen name, by the way - very fitting!)

Do you like it when an writer tells you in their book their ideas are cool?

Mongoose's Encyclopaedia Arcane line always devoted the last page to a "behind the scenes" section by the author, explaining why he chose the topic or worked out the spell system like he did or whatever. E.N. Publishing's Critters series also has a section after each monster's writeup...

    Favorite "New" Monsters

Sounds like a pretty cool monster, but I absolutley hate the name - I wish people would try to be a bit more creative than just spelling a name or word backwards. Still, I suppose "euqsam" ("masque") is better than "ecaf regguh" ("face hugger"), so maybe I should just count my blessings. :)
