Since cohorts take their own small share of XP, I would say they grant a small ammount of xp when killed.

And as far as HPs go, undead get 1d12 per HD, with no modifications.

I like the 5-9 range. Character are strong enough to survive, while at the same time are still easily challenged.

As far as mechanically, generally no you'd better off sticking with a LA0 race, but that depends on what archtype you are going to fill with a character. It's not bad to do with that a warrior type, but a caster or skill character will probley be worse off.

I've always seen it as a collection of infomation about the lower classes all over the globe. Rather the further water down an already weak skill by making it totally worthless, I perfer to leave it as it is supposed to be.

I was about to say the same thing. Barbarian can mean a lot of things, calling someone a barbarian doesn't imply levels in the class. In Eberron, lots of a churches "clerics" are experts and commoners, and don't have a lick of spell casting ability. A "bard" might be an expert with perform, a...

I fully understand that, you can't stuff EVERYTHING into a book without it becoming so bogged down in details that it just becomes a dull read. Though other fantasy authors try. :) Still those are minor complaints about a really good book. I can't wait for the others to come out. :)

If I had to bring up some problems I had with City of Towers, one would have to be that the party stopped and reflected on their progress a little too often. I like that they did it some, it gives the reader a chance to make sure they're keeping up with the story, but it felt like it happened...

I have the DM version, but chances are I'll never get to use it. It has some problems though. Some features that seem to be very obvious to include, like being able to zoom in and out on a map, are impossible. There's a lot of good there, but a few really huge stumbling blocks like the map...
