Does anybody have a link to the differences between 1st and 2nd edition AD&D that used to be posted on the WotC site?
I've been unable to find it and their search engine isn't the best.
thanks,
Jamie
Well, I've gone all the way back through to where this thread first began. I think it's 34 pages worth of Q&A with Gary. I found that the question I had about levels was answered.
Gary, I've been reading about how the Gord the rogue novels are coming out in graphic novel format. This made me...
highest allowable level for PC's
Hey Gary,
The information you've been providing is invaluable. I can't say 'thank you' enough.
I'm curious to know the highest level you would allow PC's to attain before you had them retire and/or made the players roll up new characters.
thanks,
Jamie
I anxiously await Dragonlance's return. I feel that the world is in the best possible hands, and the setting is going to be done right.
I've never been worried about the actions of the heroes of the lance overshadowing the campaign I'm in. They're there to serve as flavor IF you want it. If...
From what I've seen, the gods don't have too much to worry about from epic level PC's. Hell, the gods will be quite aware of the PCs' intentions before the PCs' have the first inkling that they will attempt to challenge the gods.
It would be cool if the books used the same system. i don't...
Col_Pladoh,
Do you have any plans to do a 'Castle Greyhawk' module or mega-adventure? I know I'd love to play it, and I'm sure a lot of other people would too. Granted, it would have to be under a different name.
thanks,
Jamie
Hi everyone,
thanks for your responses. You all provided a lot of background info along with good insights into the game. I was looking at the books in 'Little Wars' RPG shop in Baton Rouge, LA. It was during a 3E campaign when I didn't need to pay too much attention.
thanks,
Jamie
I find that between sessions, I'm usually going over my character concept in my head along with playing back the latest installment of the campaign. I don't do too much on paper unless I've leveled up. I think about what I want to do, and I try to think what I can do to do a better job...
In 1e and 2e AD&D, what were you supposed to use in order to find an adequate challenge for the party? As near as I can tell, it was based off of the number of hit dice the monster(s) had in comparison to the party. However, I'm not certain.
What were the equivalents of challenge ratings in...
What are the rules for Epic Levels in the Forgotten Realms? I know they're in the book, and I'm curious to know what they are, so I have a substitute until the Epic Levels Handbook comes out.
thanks,
Jamie
I'm going to have to analyze it a little more. I've heard similar complaints about the magic, so I'll have to look at it. It's easy enough to ignore the level limits.
I agree that the WoHS will probably be very cool in the 3E dragonlance book that will be coming out.
I'll post more about...
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I did as you all suggested and posted this in house rules. If anyone would like a copy of this file in Word, feel free to email me.
thanks,
Jamie
I've been working on this for awhile. I was told that this class should be posted here versus the general RPG discussion. Any feedback is appreciated.Wizards of High Sorcery Character Class
