Hiya! Because your THAC0 would be 18, obviously. You need 18 to hit AC 0...you missed it by 6 (18 - 12), so...AC6. But Bolares meant "...or worse" (and just misstyped, I'm assuming...), because you didn't hit AC5, which is better (you would have needed a 13). Ergo, "I hit AC6 or worse". ^_^...
