How many healing potions did the group have? If they have a near unlimited amount, than yes, waiting until negative is a good plan. In our playtests, we've had one, at the most two if we found an extra. So dying was a bad tactic.

Tracking 10 rounds isn't difficult, just fiddly and unnecessary, in my opinion. "1 Encounter" does the same thing, but we aren't allowed to use "Encounter Powers" as a term in 5e so 1 minute works for me. Just because WotC isn't using 4e terms in 5e, doesn't mean mine or your table's can't.

Great poll. And exactly how I've been reading the forums as well. 4e is 50/50, 3e is pretty ok, and 90% of 2e are excited by it. Sounds about right to me.
