    Favorite PHB Iconic

Lidda Because it is the only character that is more or less decently drawn, quite nicely in fact, and that has a tiny bit of "life" in it. Looking at the pictures with Lidda one would perhaps choose to play a thief instead of another class. Gimble is a close second though he already lacks any...

C&C is not just for old school gaming!

Quoted for Truth. And thats the thing where C&C shines, in my opinion. I don't care if it is "old school" or "new school" (terrible terms, those). To me it is important that the conversion, and mixing, between editions does not create too much of a headache. And C&C, so far, has proven that I...

Enough with the PDF table of contents already!

Methinks that writing the amount of posts I see here in this thread about this issue has used up enough time for the next 20 TOCs that come as zipped PDFs from WotC *snickers* So go Wizards. You're good to go for the next few zips :o

    Explaining Virtual Tabletops

I actually have high hopes in FantasyGrounds II. They made the scripting easier than in the older version so perhaps I'll be able to add a 2e and C&C ruleset to it. In FG1 it was a pain in the neck to hack the code so I didn't make it that far in the conversion to another system. Other than that...

Which ENWorlder Would You Want to Meet?

I'd like to meet diaglo. He looks to be a friendly chap though is vocabulary is sometimes a bit limited I'd like to meet Henry. Because he sounds like he's one of those guys you just have to meet. He's eloquent, intelligent, diplomatic, and he knows when to say the truth in someones face. I'd...

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

It's a Swiss-German children song, origin and age unknown, and unfortunately I do not know the full song. Also the mighty internet did not provide me with the complete lyrics. In this song the goose says "Gy-ga-gax". I think this comes more from a reference to the family crest than from the name...

Seriously considering Castles & Crusades: How much does it differ from 3.X?

You are right with that, C&C is not fully compatible to d20. But it is compatible enough so that you can take an adventure out of Dungeon mag and run it without too many problems. And if you have to "house rule" certain special monster feats or not should not be an issue IMO. What is much more...

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Heheh, nice one Henry. You either have the memory of an elephant or the mad search skillz of a veteran librarian. I just had to go back to the search function to find that old post. Totally forgot about it. Time flies, and with it the memories of the past.

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Yup, Gygax is a more or less common name around here. You see the name alot in the Berne Highlands (Berner Oberland).

Pathfinder 1E PATHFINDER: A First Look

I did just buy the month-to-month sub of Pathfinder to Switzerland. The costs for USPS Global (Envelope) are 5$. Same for Air Mail and USPS Global (Parcel). I assume that the shipping price to Italy would be the same since we are neighbours :) Edit: To the guys at Paizo: I am not sure how many...

What Would You Get From This Pile?

Two things: 1.) Buy it cheap and try to find someone on the Acaeum boards to sell it to :D 2.) If you don't want to handle the risk just hop over to the Acaeum ( http://www.acaeum.com/ ) and link to this thread. On those boards you can find some of the most avid D&D collectors on this planet...

    What WotC licenses remain?

I think they will be renewed no matter what to the one company that has the money for it and that can build up enough trust with WotC that they will produce quality products. I cannot see that WotC would remove those licenses and start to produce their own computer games (which is what they...

When did you start using Greyhawk?

I had my first GH experience in '91 with T1 Village of Homlet (though we didn't move on to ToEE after that). After that we had adventures like A1-4. My favorite back then was WG4. We more or less skipped all the later GH modules like WG8+ or the WGA series.

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder's Goblins

One shouldnt buy RPG products just because of the cover art. But the first Pathfinder will be mine, no matter what. Just because of those loveable, cute, totally sweet little tooseywoosies. Honestly, looking at them made me remember all those totally crappy, but still cool, 90s B-movie "horror"...

Pathfinder 1E Showing Paizo Support [merged with 'Thanks Paizo' thread]

i am currently thinking hard whether to sub to the month-to-month Pathfinder or not. But I am waiting on how much international shipping will cost me on that one. But at minimum I want to have the first two Pathfinders. Just because of the Goblins. They are soooo cuddlywuddly (in a GM twisted...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I never thought I would ever write a letter to a company about the cancellation of a product. You think it's only the "others" doing this kind of stuff. But this time I had to voice my opinion as well. It's truly sad that Dungeon and Dragon are being withdrawn. I am just not sure if I should...

    Is DM fiat okay?

I voted "Yes" because with the DM having the last word (DM fiat is an ugly term and is marked with too much negativity) it will prevent rules discussions and unneeded breaks that interrupt the flow of the game. Such things can then be discussed later on while the group eats pizza or pasta :)...

What should the default setting be for 4th edition?

I voted "No implied setting". But in fact I do not care about the setting as long as it is not Greyhawk. I also liked the "neutrality" of the AD&D 1e/2e core books. First we could end the timeless discussion about GH as a "core setting". Second, WotC could forget about Greyhawk and give into...
