    GC 2006 - Ptolus Hardback $120!?!

I buy CG art books on a bi-monthly to monthly basis and those buggers cost a leg and an arm. So I am not too worried about the price of Ptolus if the content and the art is absolutely worth the money. If you get what you pay for (and you really, really want to have it) then its ok. So depending...

Miniatures - what would you want and/or buy?

I am by no means an expert in this field but my believe is that it is not that important what kind of genre your minis are (modern, sci-fi, fantasy, etc) but the style they have. Rackham, a French company who does the Confrontation minis, did break into a field that was shared by some big...

    Future of Dungeon/Dragon magazines

It's a copy/paste type-as-they-speak report directly from Windows Notepad right after the speech has ended. Really, I don't expect something like this to be written in accurate and grammatically correct English. It's something like a live report, not a sophisticated essay being written at home...

    C&C Assault on Blacktooth Ridge

I totally like the style this adventure is written in. It's been some time since I had an adventure that did not only seemed to be interesting to play but also interesting to read through as a DM. Lots and lots of little details that at first look unimportant but add a nice flavor to the whole...

    "First Edition Feel"

and vice versa for the D&D [past editions] bashers. You didnt really expect someting productive coming out of this thread, no? As hexgrid stated earlier in this thread:

    When PCs become villains.

My old character, a lawful-evil Necromancer in a Midgard game, did turn into the main villain for the rest of the group at the end of our last campaign. He was a follower of Methraton (a character of a comic from Francois Froideval) that happend to meet the other party members just when they...

Scott Gygax invents D&D? According to Train Table

Perhaps Scott is the Minime version of Gary? *enter Vincent Price suspense background music*

    Do you like D&D?

Well it's more like this is a 3.x D&D (D20) board so it is really no wonder that the poll looks like it does now. Everything else would have been fairly desastrous, no? Asking the same question on Dragonsfoot or similar boards would give you totally different results. So the whole thing is a bit...

Yup, thanks for putting me into the right place :)

Interesting Ryan Dancey comment on "lite" RPGs

Just that its much easier for both sides (DM and players) if the rulebooks are not 300+ pages and still cover everything that needs to be known to have a good game. I always thought the reward comes from having a good game, not from having lots of tools, books, whatever. I cannot speak for...

Interesting Ryan Dancey comment on "lite" RPGs

Hehe nice try from Mr. Dancey but I dont buy it according to the experience I had with 3E D&D/1e/C&C. That character creation is taking as long in rules lite systems and rules-heavier systems I cannot believe. Char creation in D&D vs. C&C is like two worlds. Where in D&D it can take hours (no...

D&D 4E Suppose 4e is released, do you buy it?

Whew, thats like comparing apples and oranges. You speak about settings with the same ruleset (2e) and some additions to that ruleset compared to two different ruleset versions (3e vs 4e)... BTW, 3e does exactly the same now, just without having settings as the reason for rules additions. Now...

    The purpose of D&D's evolution?

That impression must come from the fact that you have not read through C&C yet.

    The purpose of D&D's evolution?

The answer of the day! Now the question is who has to fear for his job at WotC when 4e comes out :D

D&D 4E Suppose 4e is released, do you buy it?

The problem I see is that with that many rules that are in 3.x it would be almost impossible to create a 4e that would justify the title "next new edition" (and not just 3.75e) and still be compatible with 3e. For this this the rules in 3e are already so dependant on each other that bigger...

D&D 4E Suppose 4e is released, do you buy it?

I'm in the "maybe, but only..." camp. My fear is that the next edition will be even more complex and rules-heavy than the current one. And if that is the case I will certainly not buy 4e. Perhaps WotC will then put "D&D 4e..forget Rolemaster, we are bigger!" on their ads :\
