D&D General what would a standard human pantheon look like?

Right. That's why I suggested a mix-n-match approach, with modifications to the myths. But clearly that's not an approach that inspires you, and that's cool. Good luck!

D&D General what would a standard human pantheon look like?

I think the point that some of us are making is just that a "default human pantheon" would look like a human pantheon that already historically exists in real world mythology. Such pantheons do reflect humanity because they were created by real humanity.

But they didn't even read off the license plate number. I mean, that could be anybody's gargantuan bronze Lenin head. Sheesh.

D&D General what would a standard human pantheon look like?

Because real world mythology was invented by actual humans, I might start by looking there. For example, among those listed in 5e, pretty much all the expected (non-monstrous) portfolios seem to be covered. Mix and match to include whatever domains you need, then change the names, symbology...

The Most Creative TTRPG Settings and Milieus

I really like the setting of A Thousand Thousand Islands and the Reach of the Roach God campaign. It's system-neutral fantasy based on south Asian mythology and folklore. The source material, writing, and illustration all make it a wonderfully evocative and unique world, at least to my experience.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Tbh, the regular media deserves blame, too, for treating ignorant opinion equal to fact and truth. In the last 30 or 40 years, they've given too much oxygen to utterly asinine ideas, and now many of those asinine ideas are normalized. And so here we are, looking forward to the 2025 we have...

What TTRPG Is Perfect and Complete In One Volume?

(edit: oops, i didn't see that you just forked off a new thread about this, apologies!) I imagine it should be as complete as it needs to be in order to be played appropriately to its genre in the way intended by the designers. For a D&Desque game, the expectation is to be slaying monsters, so...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I asked myself the same question you likely have. But if you zoom in, you'll see that it is, in fact, not a beaver in an orange shirt working the backhoe.

    Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

The only long-overdue KS i've supported was Horizon Rising, a modest 2-week KS, funded Jan 2022, aimed to release Oct 2022. Last update was May 2023 and sounded like fulfillment was imminent, but then... complete radio silence. Rumor is the creator is sorting through some personal issues, but...
