    D&D 5E (2014) Nerf to Divine Sense

So now they have to think about when to do it instead of just spamming it constantly. Where's the downside?

D&D 5E (2014) 60+ monsters and 20+ spell in free official Hoard of the Dragon Queen supplement

Elk do 3d6+3 damage on a charge as a CR 1/4 creature. That seems kind of insane.

The double standard for magical and mundane abilities

No, the problem is that magic always just works, while mundane skills have a tendency to be nerfed beyond the written rules by "believability" concerns, making them weaker than they already are.

Is the resilient feat just proficiency in one save and a stat boost?

Thanks. It sounds like CR 6 is the max then.

    D&D 5E (2014) Feats / Multiclassing

    Feats yes. Multiclassing maybe.

What's the highest CR a 20th-level Druid can wildshape into?

    D&D 5E (2014) Finally

Does the Ranger's favored enemy bonus still only apply to skill checks? Are there any maneuvers for the Battlemaster Fighter that can only be learned at a higher level?

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

If you are totally obscured or invisible you don't even need to hide to get advantage on your attack. The rules also explicitly state that if you attack while hidden, the attack gives away your position, and if you approach a creature from hiding, that usually gives away your position. The...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Show me in the rules where it differentiates between a hidden attacker attacking with concealment/invisibility or a hidden attacker attacking from around cover.

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Basic Rules, page 73, Unseen Attackers and Targets: "If you are hidden-both unseen and unheard-when you make an attack, you give away your position when the attack hits or misses."

    D&D 5E (2014) Two-Weapon Fighting Style seems ... bad

I don't think you're missing anything... it really is suboptimal for Fighters. For Rogues, or other classes which have once-per-round bonus damage on a hit, it's a more appealing option.

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Interpreting peeking out of cover as approaching a creature feels like a mangling of the word to me.

The double standard for magical and mundane abilities

This is something that's been bothering me in the discussion about the halfling sniper, and I think it deserves its own discussion. I personally feel like the rules for hiding in 5th edition are fairly clear; if the enemy can't see you, you can use the Hide action. Some special abilities, like...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Human beings(and by extension, monsters) are not perfect reaction robots. It takes a moment to process information. If a player has successfully hidden, and then peeks around the corner to fire, yes, the monster sees them... after the attack has already occurred. This isn't my opinion; it's what...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Players don't take up an entire 5-foot square. It is more than possible to hide behind a wall, peek around the corner to shoot, and then duck back around the corner. RAW, there is nothing in the rules that says attacking from hiding only applies to the first attack made in combat.

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

The rules do not in any way differentiate between hiding using cover and hiding using concealment in the RAW. They also explicitly say you can attack from hiding, revealing your position only once the attack hits or misses. Again, it's fine for people to houserule how they like stealth to work...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

That is explicitly not how the rules work. Page 73: "If you are hidden-both unseen and unheard-when you make an attack, you give away your location when the attack hits or misses." If you come out of hiding and approach the enemy that reveals your position, but just peeking around a corner and...
