Mechanics vs Description (Forked Thread: Disarm rules)

    Invisible Paladin

It seems likely if a Paladin archer was intended to be possible they would have been given proficiency with bows and powers that actually work at a range.

    Invisible Paladin

If a Paladin issues a divine challenge in the middle of the forest, and no one is there to hear it, is it still a divine challenge?

Question about Sleep (Wizard Attack 1)

Coup de Grace isn't very deadly in 4e, so Sleep isn't as overpowered as it might seem. If the creature fails it's save you should do some nice damage, but unless it's already quite hurt it's unlikely that Sleep will be a save-or-die.

Split the tree - 2 targets only?

The first-level archery ranger dailies don't seem to be that powerful. Or maybe it's just because I'm comparing it to Two-Fanged Strike.

    Question about Grasping Shadows

If you start your turn in the area of Grasping Shadows, do you suffer from the effect? It seems logical to infer that, but it doesn't state it explicitly like Cloud of Daggers.

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

That's consistent with their answer on Hunter's Quarry.

Don't listen to advice in PHB on class ability scores

Good point, however, if you give yourself a Str score of 13, and a Dex score of 13, which is cheaper than buying a Str score of 15, you can take the OA feats which give you +3 total to OAs.

Don't listen to advice in PHB on class ability scores

From what I can tell, in the builds sections, the PHB often gives bad advice on what ability scores you should raise, particularly as it concerns your secondary abilities. For instance, they recommend that an archery ranger take Str as their second highest score, but to me this is far from...

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

According to CustServ Hunter's Quarry bonus damage only applies once per round even if you have multiple quarries: http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=16125197&postcount=2 This doesn't necessarily confirm that only one cursed enemy takes the damage, but it indicates that is probably the...

    Developer Talk = Gospel?

I really find it odd when someone says Wizards, Druids, and Clerics deserve to be more powerful, as if the abstract idea of studying or praying a lot is somehow inherently more worthy of mechanical reward than the abstract idea of honing your physical skills.

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

But you're still wrong. With Twin Strike a Ranger can hit two enemies, and one of them won't be his quarry. He obviously does not apply quarry damage to that enemy, so it is obviously possible for quarry damage to apply to only one attack.

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

By that logic if you crit with one attack in an area attack spell the maximum damage applies to all the attacks. That's not how it works.

Are ELADRIN attribute bonuses the MOST USELESS?

Yeah to be honest a Wand Wizard is really the only optimal choice for an Eladrin. I think +2 Con, +2 Int would have been a better design.

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

All of the striker bonus damage(from Sneak Attack, Hunter's Quarry, or Warlock's Curse) only applies once per round, period.

    Critical Hits & Ongoing Damage

I didn't say you could kill Orcus in two rounds, I said you could kill him after two rounds. Because once he's in your Seal of Binding, he ain't getting out. A Cleric with a 30 Wisdom will get 30 regeneration each round, so he won't even take any damage until Orcus is bloodied. And once Orcus is...
