    Player's Handbook 2 in play

I've used the knight in play. Thumbs way up. The ability to deny a foe a 5-foot step within your zone of control is freaking cool. Especially if you're Large because you're a centaur. :]

It's happening again!: DTRRPG.com is selling WotC books!

We collect differently. I make maybe half a dozen RPG purchases a year, and every once in a while I purge the books I never use. My entire collection is a reasonable three shelves. :)

    Player's Handbook 2 in play

Fantastic book. Best D&D purchase since the original PHB in 2000. Finally, high-level feat chains for fighters and rogues, and the variant class features (shapeshift, woot) are very very cool. Hot damn!

It's happening again!: DTRRPG.com is selling WotC books!

There is no way I'd take a .pdf over a print book--I don't want my collection to be subject to computer viruses, software incompatibilities, hardware malfunctions, and any other debilitating problem that a PC can cough up. I'll just lug 'em around, thanks.

    I don't understand beguilers

Killing a helpless foe? Not to turn this into an alignment discussion, but that's a pretty evil thing to do.

    I don't understand beguilers

Would you use one as a BBEG?

That's not surprise casting, that's the cloaked casting feature.

    I don't understand beguilers

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a neat idea for a class. But as far as I can tell, while a beguiler is adept at incapacitating enemies, he is absolutely incapable of killing them. Verses undead, he seems nearly as useless as a rogue, unless, like a rogue, he keeps maximum ranks in Use magic...

    what races in your fantasy?

I just use the Suthay-raht form, the one from Morrowind. D&D stats are based on the catfolk humanoid race from the Minatures Handbook. KHAJIIT The catlike khajiit hail from scattered islands in the Serpent Archipelago, where they live in relative isolation and harmony with the natural world...

Which WotC base classes fill the 4 core roles well?

Any of the following classes can fill the archetypal role without multiclassing. Arcane--beguiler, sorcerer, warlock, wizard, wu jen [Driving criterion: Spell list flexibility. For warlocks, this is covered in part by the ability to use any magic item through the Use Magic Device skill.]...

    what races in your fantasy?

Human is by far the most common race played among my friends. For my homebrew, I use an eclectic mix. IN BRIEF Humans are adaptable, diverse, and industrious, and many human kingdoms flourish upon eastern Eriador. A human’s favored class is simply the class she has the most levels in. Aelfborn...

I believe that's in Unearthed Arcana. I'm definitely using this variant next time I start a new D&D campaign.

    [Game a Day 19] ShadowRun

Me too. If I wasn't wrapped up in running two D&D campaigns, I'd love to finally sink my teeth into GMing Shadowrun. Definitely have to have the right group, though.

    Sexuality in your games.

As DM, I routinely include sexuality in the game sessions I run for one of my groups, and avoid it altogether with the other. Why? Simply put, because in the former group, it's fun and adds to the roleplaying, and in the latter it's acutely uncomfortable and does not. Every game group is...

The Cask of Winter -4 July-

Skuld sniffed the scything breeze that wafted up the craggy pass, inhaling sharply once, then again, before wresting a nose-full of bracing air into his powerful lungs. With a gangling, warty arm, he reached over his hulking shoulder and scratched the small of his back. Even for a mountain...

Do You Prefer to Play a Human PC When RPGing?

Not to mention the question was asked on a D&D board. It's just assumed. In the south, everyone calls a soda a "Coke," even if they're ordering a Sprite. Same thing. WAITRESS: "What'll you have, sug?" SOUTHERNER: "Think I'll have a Coke." WAITRESS: "What kind, babe?" SOUTHERNER: "Mountain...

You cannot die from starvation or thirst

Don't get me started. Endure elements alone is enough to negate a wide range of environmental survival issues. Freaking first-level spell. :\
