Attack of Opportunity -- does it deserve to survive to v.4?

AoOs and the provoking and avoidance thereof are one of the most fun parts of 3E combat. I hope they keep them!

How many homebrew adventures have you written?

Pretty much all homebrew in nearly 20 years of gaming. But I don't write them in the published format; I jot down notes and maps and stat monsters and let the rest sort itself out through play.

    Counterspelling -- Does It Work?

Yes. And it's especially effective in the hands of a warlock with voracious dispelling.

How do you DM High level and stay sane?! (Piratecat help!)

That is a fantastic bit of advice, for the record, and something which I do as well. If I have a shifter barbarian NPC facing off against the party, I stat him with rage and shifting baked into the stats. I don't worry about his normal stats because he's probably going to be dead before his rage...

D&D 3.x 3.5 Conversion: Land Beyond the Magic Mirror

I statted the monsters that aren't already updated to 3.5. Use the others as written. For the unicorn in Area Q, use the celestial charger. The only conversion I didn't make is the eblis. Enjoy.

    Detail Discussion

I just noticed that there's a paladin and a neutral evil barbarian in the same group. Do you guys have a plan for making that work? Also, props on the kenku rogue--I love the kenku and am definitely using it as a player race in a future campaign.

    Detail Discussion

I see this party and imagine dead leaves and the dirty ground. ;) I'm always curious to see how a group works out the healing paradigm. Artificer, druid, paladin, ranger, ranger suggests lots of wands of healing. It will be interesting to see how the situation evolves starting around 5th level...

The Cask of Winter -4 July-

Thanks man. Are you perhaps thinking of Elizabeth Boyer's Wizard War series of books? I haven't read them, but that's what I found on Google. I do recall reading a Norse-inspired fantasy book involving the ljos- and dokkalfar as a teen, but I don't remember the name. There's also Guy Gavriel...

Can you play the game wrong/incorrectly?

Has Anyone Ever Run a Single Classed Sorcerer?

I love sorcerers. They're easy to play and you can cast a ton of spells each day. What's not to like?

Can you play the game wrong/incorrectly?

Short answer--no. Long answer--yes, you can play the game "wrong" for me, in such a way that I won't want to play with you. But this is more about personality conflict than game mechanics.
