D&D 3.x Stealing rules from PFRPG for 3.5E - Any Suggestions?

Easy-peasy, because that's what we're doing. We're sticking with 3.5 and aren't particularly interested in PFRPG, but there's stealable stuff. Without going through the rules with a fine-toothed comb, here's what we've adopted so far: - Favored class (with some further modifications) - final...

    Rundown of adventure paths?

Quick answer: None of the above. Since you're already defined "themes" for you campaign, an adventure path - which of course has its own theme - is not appropriate for your campaigns. With that said, Rise of the Runelords has a chance to be fit in with your Savage Frontier/orc war theme...

Pathfinder 1E [MERGED] Pathfinder forum complaint threads

I agree - the split does seem to be very inconsistent (and not in a good way). A bunch of the PF threads should probably be in General.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder OnLine SRD (PRD)

Does anyone with the PFRPG know if anything (and how much) is missing? I'm sticking with 3.5, but I'm using Paizo's APs. Is this 'SRD' (PFGRD?) complete enough for me to understand the entirety of a PFRPG statblock in the APs? Is anything important missing?

    Let's read the entire run

Woo! Yamara is beginning! I'm looking forward to later reviews when it gets pretty wahoo.

    A successful "Realms-Shaking-Event"?

None that I know of. (While obviously no statistics or studies (!) are available, AFAIK the Time of Troubles was not positively received either. It's still laughed at to this day on FR-centric sites.) I disagree. It's not the RSEs that are doing that - it's all the other stuff you mention (in...

Pathfinder 1E [Pathfinder] Planning on switching to Pathfinder?

Exactly this. We're sticking with 3.5, but we'll pull some things out if we like them (and use the rules to understand Paizo's AP stat blocks).

    Defying Gravity

My wife and I are watching it - and, to quote a poster: "It's not terrible." The science is wonky, but understandable given TV budgets... but wonky and noticeable nonetheless. I agree with the poster that mentioned the (first episode's) over-use of blaring pop songs. I envy those that didn't...

What do you consider "everything is core" to mean in your game?

Other. When such a term is used, I assume it means that future books assume you own all previous books designated as "core". (Someone might have decided to change this and make the word "core" more meaningless, and I just haven't yet seen a clear definition.)

    [Trailer] District 9

I love preachy movies, so I'm very interested in this.

    ENWorld Spamletter

That's why you use the "opt-in" methodology, not the weasely "opt-out". And no, registering for ENWorld forums is not an "opt-in" for newsletter emails. (As an aside - another hotmail account user here, and I also did not receive it. Maybe I got lucky and managed to turn it off long before...

Player request, Ramna 1/2? Looking for ideas and suggestions

You are mistaken. My wife and I have just finished (just) finished watching the series, and yes - Ranma gets weaker and faster as a female. The show (Ranma himself) made that abundantly clear, actually. As to 4 being "whopping"? That's subjective, and in any case, not what the OP asked for...

Starcraft II - NO LAN FOR YOU!

Hmph. No wonder I've pretty much entirely moved away from PC gaming.

    Return of the Edition War

 Heh! That complaint doesn't make much sense to me... if one is going to go so far as to use the Ignore function, then there really shouldn't be any "case-by-case basis"... Crazy illogical people! :) And sadly that still doesn't fix the 'see the offending poster in quotes' problem.

    Return of the Edition War

Indeed. AFAIC, ENWorld's Ignore function is broken and essentially non-functional. For me, if an Ignore function doesn't entirely scrub the existence of a poster from ENWorld when I'm browsing, it's pretty much valueless. (And while this is completely wishful thinking, I'd still love the...

Rate Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

That's pretty typical of ENWorld, actually. Believe me, ENWorld is one of the last places on the internet that I go for movie advice, as it's wrong almost all of the time AFAIC. And that's saying a lot. :D

Who do you trust for game reviews?

"Trust"? None. However, I will read IGN's reviews with the distinct understanding that their reviews are, as John Crichton put it, "overly enthusiastic and forgiving" in many instances, and overly jaded in others (like their RPG reviews). I'll also watch X-Play and Reviews on the Run to hear...

    Battlestar Galactica: The Plan

I think the phrase "doesn't match" pretty much explains BSG from Season 3 on.

    Return of the Edition War

I agree with Mark. Really, I certainly hope the moderators track who gets banned, and how many times. People who have been banned in any way at all need to be more closely looked at, and on a constant basis. (I track a little on my own based on what I see, and it comes to no surprise for me to...

    Evony ad "Save The Queen"

Very very very weakly, it seems. Probably closer, in my particular case. I doubt it! :p
