    Worst Race?

So when people clicked on tiefling in the Worst Race poll what they were really trying to say was, Tieflings are "such a cool race"? That's what you're reading into it. If we're going to get into what you probably should have said, how about this, "the 100+ people who voted Tiefling as the...

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

There's a link to it in the very first post in this topic. You did read that one, didn't you? ;)

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

D'oh, I didn't think it all the way out. Anyway, that "solution" doesn't solve all the problems with the system. Personally, I'm going to use stalker0's system. It's awesome, you should check it out if you have not already. It's just sad that something that was given so much hype is such a...

Flat Healing Without Using a Surge--Infinite Daily HP?

Naw, "par" goes all the way back to Latin where it literally meant "equal." My 7th grade (I think) homeroom teacher read that short story to us, it's not very long, but it's very good. I can't remember if that was before or after I saw the TZ episode. If you plan on trying to find it (not...

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

But that's not just increasing "complexity", that's also decreasing difficulty. Which is one of the problems of the RAW to begin with.

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

Two questions, have you read this ENTIRE thread, and have you read all the pertinent sections of the DMG(Chapters 3 and 5 for the most part)? Because most of what you are complaining about has been addressed in this thread already, especailly that +5 thing. Read what I bolded in your post...

Flat Healing Without Using a Surge--Infinite Daily HP?

It's simple, subpar means "below standard". In golf, scoring below the standard is a good thing. In almost everything else, such a state is bad. It makes perfect sense. It's interesting though, that the term "subpar golfer" can actually mean two different things that are, in fact, opposites...

    Wizard and spellbooks

Actually, somewhere on these boards someone posted a response from CS that a multiclass wizard that gets one of the power swapping feats only exchanges one out of his two or three possible powers of that given level for the power from the other class. The specific example given was for a wizard...

Dynamic Excel "Wiesbaden Charactersheet" D&D (v1.11)

Someone mentioned earlier about errors when using open office. I use that product as well. I don't believe the question was addressed at all. Are you guys offering any support for OO Calc? I just downloaded 1.09 and there are enough problems with it for it not to be of much use.

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

Can you make one change like that will work in a consistent manner for parties of different levels like the system is supposed to work? Judging from comments in here and in the thread that the OP linked to, probably not. I'd rather not have to go to your webpage and plug in a bunch of info...

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

The fact that we require something like this to determine how to modify the RAW so that the PCs can actually succeed at a decent, and fun for the game, rate pretty much proves that this system is broken. Honestly, I doubt they'll do anything about it, because there's not an easy or quick fix to...

    Poisons? You're kidding right?

That would be great if skill challenges weren't totally broken. No, seriously, that's some good work. But until a fix for the sc system comes out that doesn't make PCs fail the majority of the time, it's pretty useless unless you want your PCs to remain poisoned for long periods of time.

    Wizard and spellbooks

That is exactly what I'm planning to use. Whether or not that's what the rules tell us, that seems to be the spirit of the design. Anything else seems to give the wizards either too much, or too little power in comparison. And since 4e is all about balance....

add 1/2 level to ability checks? What? Why?

Weren't all those characters created for the Modules that Weis and Hickman were writing? Yeah, their home group played through the mods and that inspired the novels, but I'm pretty sure that they created the characters as a DM would, usually without rolling. I'm sure someone with the annotated...

    Attributes and Builds

Man, doesn't anybody pick something for their character that's not based on power gaming? I'm playing in three campaigns right now, out of a total of about 16 characters, there are only two humans.

Flat Healing Without Using a Surge--Infinite Daily HP?

I didn't say this, "There is no inconsistency/loophole/mechanics issue with Rule X, because you can always Rule 0 the inconsistency/loophole/mechanics issue." He asked if there was anything preventing something, and I answered that the DM was. Obviously, there is some kind of issue, IF the DM...

Dwarves don't go prone easy? Even if unconscious?

For those unaware: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0150.html There's a difference between being asleep and unconscious. And there's definitely a difference between being dead and those as well. Sleep actually requires your muscles to be relaxed. Let me rephrase that. Part of the signs...
