Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

thank you, that makes sense, I haven't watched the episode yet, but I thought in the thread there had been some talk about this not being in Prime Universe. Whew...I thought I missed something. I am looking forward to the finale, this whole show has reenergized my Star Trek love!!

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

so, is SNW not in the Prime universe? I mean is it an alternate timeline?

    Obi-Wan Kenobi (spoilers)

I see it in the same vein as Gollum in Lord of the Rings. It was not Frodo that destroyed the ring, it was Gollum. Had Frodo killed Gollum, the ring would not have been destroyed. He played a pivotal part in its destruction. Hence Gandalf's warning noted upthread. Vader is Gollum. If not for...

    Obi-Wan Kenobi (spoilers)

I think that the acting has been bad in all BUT the sequels. Harrison Ford has been quoted saying, " 'George! You can type this sh*t, but you sure can't say it!" And George has said that the Original Trilogy was an homage to the pulps (particularly Flash Gordon) of the 1930s/40s. The dialogue...

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

As I said upthread, I am digging it. EP3 was a little cramped, but its what you get I think with a show trying to be episodic. The thing I really am enjoying is that is is sci-fi with a point. They are like TOS was (and TNG i think didn't watch much of it): morality plays. The science part of...

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

I'm in. I didn't realize how dark Discovery was. I like it but I didn't realize it isn't quite what I want from my Trek. I like the optimism. I like the characters. I like the look of the show.

    Rabbi as a class/kit?

Hi I found this article by Lee Gold a very interesting read. It is quite long, and she is the publisher of Alarums and Excursions which has been published as a RPG Zine since 1976. While it does not contain specific 2e concepts, it can provide a good framework to figure it out in 2e mechanics.

    D&D 5E (2014) Downtime Activities

Oh that is a fantastic way to use Downtime, especially since the genre's I tend to play in 5e (spies and supers) don't really focus on gp. Tying lvling up to downtime could increase its value.

    D&D 5E (2014) Downtime Activities

So I only recently really leaned into 5e. I've played it since it came out, but with mostly reservations because I am not much of a combat person. I wanted something else in my RPGing. See I've been gaming since the early 80s and I cut my teeth GMing on TSR's Marvel Heroes. I loved the game...

One Ring 2E - Who's Doing What With It?

I would agree with this, though I have found 2e to be a VAST improvement in streamlining the rules AND making them more enjoyable to implement. The changes to the Skill Endeavour rules have been fantastic.
