What games should I have on my shelf?

Well, since you typed: There is only ONE game that outshines all other games when it comes to being all about the fun: HACKMASTER! cheers!

Star Wars Saga RPG: Square Book? WTF

I agree. I actually hope they do a lot of the same things, like make spell casting a skill roll and using talent trees.

Star Wars Saga RPG: Square Book? WTF

You say "about 100%". Can you be a little more exact? I'd appriciate it a lot. Are you saying it is more 99.3% more comfortable or 89.7%? This would greatly help me decide to buy this game or not. Thanks!

    HackMaster: The New Edition

I agree Jolly - this approach is very nice. One of my favorite RPGs (HarnMaster) does just that.

Alternate Class Feature from PH II

Okay. But, if that's the case, then why does the description list that you keep BAB, Base saves, etc. Why doesn't it assume we already know you keep those elements. Skill ranks are also listed as being kept, but why list those things and NOT list Feats if you keep Feats? Maybe I'm just not...

Alternate Class Feature from PH II

I was lead to think this because the description DOES list what you DO keep, and feats aren't included in the list. Thanks again!

Alternate Class Feature from PH II

Hello, As I read the Alternate Class feature for the Druid from Player's Handbook II, the Shape Shift ability, a character DOES NOT retain their Feats when they shift, correct? Thanks!

Reaper to produce pre-painted Plastic minis - Non-random

This is just what I've been looking for. I have zero interest in buying metal minis and painting them and I have zero interest in buying randomly packaged minis from WotC. Thank you Reaper! I will be buying lots of these.

[D&D] What books are you using in your current game?

I run my campaign about 2 or 3 times a month. I swap nights with another DM in our group. We play every Wednesday night from 6 to 10 PM. When I DM we are in the World of Greyhawk and I'm running Red Hand of Doom; we use: Greyhawk Gazetteer Player’s Handbook Dungeon Master’s Guide Monster...

Leaving Significant Other at Home to Game on V-Day?

My D&D group plays every Wednesday night from 6 to 10 PM. However, we are all adults - mostly in our 30s with professional jobs - and married. So, we decided to cancel tonight's game and instead spend time with our wonderful wives. I am starting the The Red Hand of Doom module next week and I...

    In Print Fantasy Games

HarnMaster 3.0 is a fantasy rpg that's in print. I really like it but have always had trouble locating willing players. And yeah, put me down as another gamer suggesting Artesia. Freakin' amazing rpg.

How easy is it to SELL magic items in your game?

Yes I do. I don't usually make it an easy affair. First off, most successful merchants won't purchase an item of magic just because some person they don't really know walks in and claims the item is magical. The poster above has it right. The merchant would first charge for getting the item...

    Not Reading Ryan Dancy

Maybe. I DM a First Edition campaign now. We never use - or ever feel the need to use - miniatures or battle mats. Even when I was younger and my older brother and his pals played AD&D, they never used miniatures. I don't think the same can be said for the 3rd edition of D&D. From my...

    Not Reading Ryan Dancy

I agree with you completely. I DO NOT like table-top wargames, never have. It definitely appears as if D&D (and the Star Wars RPG for that matter) are becoming more and more mini-centric. I hate that that's happening. If I want to play a minis wargame I'd play one, but when I play D&D I want to...

    D&D 4E Hasbro, Greyhawk, and 4E speculation

Ah, I see. This is exactly how I ran all of my 2nd. ed. campaigns. I guess I could do it for the newer edition, but it would be a lot of work and require me to pay a lot of attention to my graph paper. Well, I stand (actually I'm sitting) corrected. You CAN play v.3.5 without minis.

    D&D 4E Hasbro, Greyhawk, and 4E speculation

Really? That's interesting. I'd love to watch your group play a session. What do ya'll do when someone is moving around during combat and attacks of opportunity need to be settled? Do you just wing it?
